I turned to the channel, it was right at the end of a repeat showing, and it let me link to the on demand from there! Yeyyy! This was one of those episodes where you knew characters X and Y survived, because they were on Breaking Bad, but it was really good all the same. Really glad I got to see it tonight as I was so looking forward to it!

Wow! What an episode! Kitt, but we don't know the fate of Kim, so I'm on eggshells watching her do anything dangerous!

I wonder if today's happenings were all just too much, and she leaves. It would be strange for someone to get a (somewhat) happy ending (i.e. they live), but perhaps it's possible!

So what happened with Kim on the phone?! Did he even talk to her? I wonder if the final two episodes will be for Gene. I thought after last week's episode they'd wrapped that up, and they'd fill in some of the gaps post-Kim. I feel like we're missing something there. By the way, can't check it at the moment but I think there's a Talking Saul after the next episode as well as after the finale the following week. Check your recorders!

We aren't supposed know if he talked to her which gives me hope they reunite. The timelines seem to have caught up with each other (loved seeing Walt and Jesse!) and it's going to turn into a sequel. And I checked. Yep, "Talking Saul" after next week's show, but not after the finale. The finale is 1:38 long, and they are playing it twice back to back. In my guide, Talking Saul is still labelled as "Better Call Saul", with "Talking Saul" in the description.

Thanks, looks like that's how it is on mine too. And I'd kept that Talking Saul season pass for so long, not to be used!

Bob Odenkirk was on The View today and he says we haven't seen the last of Jesse and Walt

Ooo that's good. At the end of last night's show he was walking into Walt's school so it will probably follow on from there. It had to be that Jesse looked a bit older as the actor's at an age where he changes considerably, but I noticed more than anything that his voice sounded much older. The balaclavas helped hide the changes, that was amusing. I hope they go back to Gus Fring. I feel like we're missing part of his story, but maybe there's nothing more to say between here and Breaking Bad. I guess he just kept building up the laundry, then the cellar with Gale, then Walt came along and the rest is history (or future).

Yes, Walt seemed the same, but Jessie's voice was clearly different. Still so fun to see them. And Kim, clearly whatever happened on that phone didn't go well, but we are left to wonder. I'm glad we at least know Kim is out there in FL probably living a good life not doing cons or breaking the law.

Two mean things: 1) I'm not sure I like seeing more Jesse as they just can't hide his age. I was going to say he was 40 playing 18, then thought that was rude as he's probably only 35 in real life, looked it up and he's 42. It shows. 2) What was future Kim wearing?! And why!? Also 3) (but not mean) I find the black and white really tedious after a while. Going to watch Talking Saul and then comment more... They have some really good guests on.

Talking Saul made me feel a bit better about the show... I'm finding I need a bit of patience with these episodes. For example could they have told the Kim is a shell of a person storyline without it taking half an hour? And as I said above, I find it being in black and white quite hard going, it was useful for the short segments, but whole shows of it are difficult to watch. I'm missing Mike and Fring. I know it could be that their stories are told until the Breaking Bad time frame, but this season has been so exciting then these episodes are like another show. I think the pacing is just off, they should have warned us somehow! Anyway, from Talking Saul it seems like the finale is going to have some big things happening in it. Fingers crossed it's excellent!

i too am hoping it all comes together. I agree that some of these episodes have been a bit slow. But I guess life on the run is a bit slower. I really did love this scene with Jesse. I thought he sounded younger than he did last time. And yes Talking Saul helps as we hear them discuss the character evolution. I really feel like I'll need to watch this all again some day to really appreciate it. (I've already watched Breaking Bad twice through).

I thought the episode was maybe the best of the series. The scene of Kim on the airport bus when the horror of everything she's done and its consequences come slowly uncorked is a brilliant piece of acting, as was watching Howard's wife's face as she read Kim's confessions. There was a period of 15-20 minutes that was nearly dialogue-free and the fact that they were able to maintain the tautness of the narrative throughout amazed me (it reminded me of that old film Dressed to Kill where the camera was fixed on Angie Dickinson's eyes for ~20 minutes and her eyes guided us from coquettishness to terror). Jeff sitting silently in the cab with just his eyes expressing everything, Saul rifling through things to pilfer, then he realizes his mark has gotten up...terrific. And I was entirely prepared to watch Saul choke Carol Burnett (!) with a phone cord because that's how far he's fallen from Slippin' Jimmy the affable conman.

Yes. The scene with Kim. So powerful. What a great job she has done with this character. And the phone cord. Chilling. There were a lot of really good moments in this episode. Saul being such an ass when she's signing the documents. All coming from a place of hurt. Kim's response when the wife says she could sure her in civil court. I feel like this episode tee'd us up for a memorable finale. The episode I found a tad boring was the cinnebon one. And maybe that's just because I was STARVING watching them be eaten over and over. I wanted one SO badly.

Naja, you made me hungry! Why is it that typical breakfast foods are the ones that have the most heavenly aromas? Coffee, bacon, pastries, Yummmm.

I've been thinking on the finale and letting it settle in, and I decided it was excellent! And I've reconsidered my annoyance at the last few episodes being drawn out and such a change in tempo. I'll even forgive them being in black and white! It's like the last four episodes have taken us back to reality. No excitement from the danger, no fear of death or violence. Just the reality(ish) of what happens when the consequences catch up to you. I'd have liked if Saul had tricked the system again and taken a short sentence, but it seems right that he finally decided to take responsibility. In some ways it's a happy ending, he'll always find the way to find the most of a situation, he's just that kind of a person. And Kim was finding her way back to the law too. We celebrated the end by starting Breaking Bad again. Bet that series is going to get a lot of hits on Netflix in the coming weeks!

We just finished Breaking Bad again a couple weeks ago, and then we started Saul again to be totally refreshed with the whole story for the finale. It was so sad, but I feel like they kind of ended up together since she'll be there to fight to get his sentence shorter.

yes, I think it's a fitting ending. He just couldn't help himself. Had to start the con again, and eventually it catches you. One could argue he was ready to be caught, tired of being on the run. It was a tale of finally facing your regrets. And so fun that he's a hit in prison. He's obviously doing well there. And I'm hoping Kim can get him some kind of resentencing. It's an ending that leaves us with some hope -- hope for humanity, hope for Kim.
