Really? Costa Mesa is just across the concrete river! On NextDoor it is all about porch pirates today.

I have been in that area of the city so often..

They are telling people to stay home, which happily was my lot for today.

Trabuco was near the start of the big Holy Fire (Holy Jim Canyon), so that was quite likely to be hit by flood/mud.

Yeah, just saw it on Twitter and was surprised about Costa Mesa.

I did read that the area is prone to flooding. Surprised because quite a bit of Costa Mesa is a bit higher in elevation.

There was also a bit of flooding in Santa Ana.

Looks very nice today.

Hope tomorrow follows suit since we are singing at a city holiday event, outside.

Well now that you are having a nice day, I am having a thunderstorm and huge raindrops coming down hard and fast. And cold! Oh, and now there is a little wind whistling. Don't know if it will get any stronger or not.

Rained for a couple hours and now it is just wet and cold. The big drops and hard rain usually don't last longer than a couple hours.

Big time wet and cold in San Antonio. Interesting we have snow a year ago today.

Mack, it's supposed to just be cloudy tomorrow. I was watching my video of last year's snow today.

Cloudy and cold today....well it’s 48F and that’s cold enough for me. I don’t know about at your house Jmm but we only got about 2 inches of rain out of the storm. Forecast was for 2-4 inches in our area and up to 6 inches to the south and east.

We got about 3.25 inches in the last 48 hours, Mack. So nothing too bad, but enough to leave water over some of the road this morning on my way to work. It's all drained away now.

Going down to 48 here 250 miles south of Mack and Jmm, in the Texas tropics, with that wind whistling down about 400 miles of unobstructed coastline, and us here at the sand dunes on the Gulf of Mexico in our uninsulated condos. It sounds laughable, but it is just amazing how cold 50 can feel down here, as opposed to 50 back home, which means wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt when going for a brisk walk.

It was not in the sun today, very cold in my condo!

Will get down to 47-8. That is cold in an unheated home.

I could never live in Detroit again! (For many reasons, including weather).

It's 42 here at around 10:30, Juju. And you're right 50 here is much colder than 50 in Michigan was. I don't understand how that is but I just know I feel the difference. LOL

In Michigan, we had heat going And homes were built tighter.

And after you walked to school in subzero temps (and there was no wind chill factor then, just chill) 50 would be somewhat balmy.

Summer was hellishly hot and humid.

37F on the patio this morning when I got up. I knew it got cold outside because the cats got in bed with us during the night. Funny thing is the air temp in the house says pretty much the same as Mrs Mack won’t let me turn it down at night. I think the cats are hypersensitive and can feel the cold through the doors and windows. I also think because our house doesn’t have a basement and is what they call slab on ground construction they can feel the cold on the floor.

My cat has been hanging with me in bed, too! And eating more than she does in warmer weather.

She also senses wind while indoors, far more than I do.

Cold today because it is cloudy and gray, apparently some rain coming overnight and to screw up the commute. Temps are in the mid 50's.

Oh and I meant to ask, is it normal to have snow in North Carolina???? For some reason I didn't think it snowed there, or at least if it did it wasn't any big deal.

Yes it does snow in North Carolina, also ice. More common in northern areas and the mountains. Where this is common, they are well prepared with snow plows and salt trucks.

Thanks Kitkat, that just seemed odd to me, I always think of NC as warm.

Today it is a beautiful, sunny, glorious day... blue skies, happy birds, temps going into the 60's!

Going to be a little warmer today, maybe mid 60's; it's sunny and bright with blue skies, and a little breeze.

Cloudy and gray, it seems we are on storm watch, it might make it to 60 today.
