As Tropical Storm Hilary carried torrential rain into Southern California, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 hit near Ojai, California, about 80 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

In Orange County we had rain, steady, then hard, then less rain but much more wind that I posted on Instagram @Seasnork .. and since then I have heard more rain but some wind too.
Dipo, when I got the pushed announcement of the earthquake on my cell it said 5.6 and the map looked like Temecula or thereabouts and right away the warned about shaking started here. It said 88.1 miles away. But the emails that came soon and other posts said Ojai and less magnitude. No surprise that the magnitude is adjuested, but Temecula and Ojai are not close to each other. But the warning was good to have because it said you will feel shaking and that was it. I didn't feel any of the afterhocks.
The wind is still pretty strong out there.

Very nice today, we have a strong breeze, yeah!! and gray hazy skies (they say from clouds and smoke mixing). Temps are going up to 81.

Yes, the Hurriquake seems to be over, but there is a bit of damage and still waiting for all the water to come rushing down out of the mountains. I saw some roads that crumbled a bit, and there was a lot of flooding.
Now I see we have an extreme heatwave in the middle of the country, and a hurricane watch in the East and Texas!!
It will be a busy day.

Also, it is nice here in Northern California Bay Area, no real impact from Hillary. I think the inland areas and Sierras got some rain, but none in my town.
Bummed that the breeze has dissipated, yesterday was great. Today it is a little hazy and temps are going to 86.
And thank goodness, the humidity is down!
