I started watching Steal yesterday and made it to E3. Very intense - excellent limited series. I can't recommend it enough. You are enthralled in the first episode. It's not one of those shows where you have to watch to see if you might like it and then give up by the third episode.

Yes I finished it. You must stick with it - the way it ends is wild AF - especially with regard to the money they stole.

I have to agree with you because there were some parts that seemed to drag on and were unnecessary but it was still a good show.

Scarpetta dropped today in Prime. I am having a hard time sticking with it. I was really looking forward to it since I have read all of Patricia Cornwell's books. Disappointing, even with such an impressive cast.

I haven’t watched it yet but hearing you say that is rather disappointing. I enjoyed the books as you did and I had good hope for a great series especially with Nicole Kidman, who is a respectable actress and seems well suited to the role.

I just finished watching Scarpetta and was not impressed. It wasn’t easy to watch it, but I made it to the end. I DID NOT like the ending at all. Although I have never read any of Patricia Cornwell’s books, maybe that would have helped. I don’t know. Maybe I just picked the most gruesome show to watch

There was so much wrong with it.
Positives:
I was really impressed how the younger characters looked so much like their present day counterparts.
Negatives:
the ending - terrible
The whole talking AI dead spouse story line - awful
Lucy in the books is a successful FBI expert - not even mentioned in this show
The Jamie Lee Curtis - Nicole Kidman sister fight that starts at the beginning of the movie and just carries all the way through the movie is horrible and they just come off as caricatures
It was tick off the boxes that you think will sell. The cliffhanger ending is unfortunate because I don't see how they can sell another season.

I watched the first episode and although it’s got a lot of bad reviews I thought it was pretty good with the big exception to that being it didn’t seem similar to the books at all. More of a family drama with very little actual pathology, science or detective work. I’ve kind of averted my eyes here as I don’t want to see spoilers (which are perfectly fine to post, by the way) so that’s why I may not respond directly. Anyway, I liked it enough that I’ll keep watching for now.
