Just venting….I ordered a pair of shoes from a reputable online shoe store (Teva) on 11/29. The order location is CA. I’m in Oregon. I’ve had UPS delivery notices 3 times, but always it was rescended the day of the delivery. UPS lists the shipment from Riverside, CA to, get this, Georgia! It was finally shipped from Georgia a week ago for delivery today. And yet…. It’s not even showing online as in Portland yet. I’m pretty sure that it won’t be delivered today. Anyway, I’m just venting. Have already talked with UPS about this. They said that there’s a lag sometimes in the delivery updates online…. Yeah, that’s the problem, not the cross country tour it is taking. Fortunately, I’m not in any hurry for the shoes. I’ll probably be calling Teva on Monday to see what can be done, if I don’t receive the shoes by then.

I once ordered a catnip infused snake from a nice woman on Etsy and it ended up in Puerto Rico! She did send a replacement. We had two but they went in the flooding at my place. I should order one for our temporary location to take back home next year. I do track items that move away before finally being delivered..

Update: No package delivery yesterday, but progress, as UPS now shows it in Portland as of this morning. Maybe I will get those shoes soon…. Or they might end up in New Mexico or someplace else.

Bigdog and I both got our long missing shoes, from different senders, yesterday.

Final report on shoes in transit: I finally got them from UPS yesterday afternoon. I was excited, so tried them on immediately…. Terrible fit. They are the most uncomfortable TEVAs that I’ve ever put on. Thought I’d wait a day just in case it was my feet issues, so tried again this morning. Yup, very uncomfortable shoes, which is a surprise to me. Never had that issue with Teva before. They will go back on the road again tomorrow, as I’m returning then. All that shipping nonsense for nothing. Oh well.

Postscript: After the 16 day US road trip saga of the shoes I ordered, I had to come back here with a chuckle from the return process. Teva gives you a QR code to take to UPS for the return shipment. Says it will take about 3 days to get the return processed. All I needed to do was drop the package off at UPS for shipment back to Teva, which I did at 10:30am today. Well they received the package back in their CA warehouse at 8:45pm today. I just started laughing when I saw that.

Hate is a strong word but….my main go-to grocery store likes to mess with this old guy’s brain. About the time I know where most of our routine foods, etc., are they decide to move them to a new location. Sometimes close so an easier adjustment but sometimes literally across the store. This store is big so relocation can sometimes be a challenge. I’m a fairly organized shopper and try to make my trips as short and as focused as possible. I realize there are actually studies conducted on all sorts of aspects of grocery shopping from store organization to box and container design to relative placement on the shelves but STOP moving stuff around! 👎😟😬

This makes me nuts as well!! I organize my shopping list by aisle, so when they move stuff, I have to recalibrate - and it takes me a good month to remember the moves when I'm at home making the list!

I have to do grocery store pick up these days, but yes, every time I have to go in, they have rearranged ... again! Plus they do this forced navigation stuff, where once you could walk thru to the other side of a section, but now you have to walk all the way around certain sections. What is the point of that, except to annoy people?

Since I don't keep wine in the house any more, when I cook dishes that need it, I use Holland's Cooking Wine. When our store remodeled, I couldn't find it for a long time. Then suddenly it appeared next to vinegar only to disappear again a month later. Eventually I found it in the wine section but that was short lived as they again moved it back next to the vinegar. I had a cashier stop and ask me where I had found it because he had also been looking for it. It's pretty bad when even their employees can't keep track of where they move items.
