Is there a Hulu deal going on? I saw that some pay channel was offering a $2.99 per month deal for Black Friday / Cyber Monday. You might check on that.

I am so confused. Who was shot in the wheel chair? The old lady's son?

Yes, I believe it was the son. I think he was already dead despite the blood when he was shot. This has been a pretty good season. I don't trust Linda and am not sure if she is dead or not.

Thank you! Yes, that was confusing since I assumed he was already dead from the ax to the chest. And this season is SUPER! That whole Linda thing is very bizarre. She seems incredibly shady.

In the "Linda" episode, I think Dot was just dreaming that whole scenario of finding Linda at the camp, etc. Is that right? I am enjoying Season 5 to the max!!

I was thinking that myself! When she looked up from the pancakes at the end that she had ordered in the beginning, it seemed like all a daydream.

I wondered that as well but when she asked for Linda in hospital I wasn't sure. I need to pay more attention to the show and stay off my tablet at the same time.

I just read a couple articles that it was a dream sequence. I suspect based on how the real first wife treated her. I wonder how many episodes are left? Don't want to look in case I came across any spoilers.

Yes, I believe that was the dead son in the rocking chair, brain and skull splatter on the wall. And yes, dream sequence, which provided a way to give us back story on Dorothy. I don't really love dream sequences as they seem like a waste when we can't tell what is real, but I believe the back story part was real. Where Linda is, we don't really know.

Well Sheriff Roy seemed to say Linda is dead when he said he'd bury Dot next to her.

How excellent was this season?! I loved it! The ending was very satisfying, especially with that bit of unexpected weirdness at the end.

I agree that overall it was a good season. I was a bit unimpressed with the final episode. It seemed oddly rushed and slow. The final scene was bizarre. I was disappointed she didn't win an Emmy for her role as Dot.

Although, this season of Fargo may not have been eligible for the recent Emmys.

Loved this season! Wish it had more episodes! I hope it will be nominated for the Emmys next year.

Just finished the finale episode and I think S05 was an excellent season. There was a scene that I saw in my head (kind of like Dorothy's Camp Utopia dream) but it didn't really happen, but it was implied that it could possibly happen in the future. I though it would be great if Sheriff Roy was in prison and he meets a real monster of an inmate who's a foot taller and a hundred lbs of muscle heavier than the sheriff. I wanted to see this evil giant as Roy's cellmate. I wanted to see this guy explaining to Roy that he (giant) now owned him and that Roy now was his b***h. And then he listed what Roy's duties would be, such as tending to his "needs as a man" that he was expected to perform on command. Then the ep could have ended with a look of abject horror on Roy's face. I guess with every prisoner being taken care of by Mrs Lyon, except Roy, that is, it's pretty sure that he won't become a "boss" to other prisoners. He's at the bottom of the prisoner hierarchy now, with nothing to barter with and nothing to control....while all the rest of the cons knew he was the weakest and is now free game. Great season. The only drawback was waiting 2 (3?) years for it and then devouring it all within 24 hours so I'm now waiting for S06. BUT, the ending they picked was perfect, too. I loved seeing the sin-eater learning that he could become a love-and-joy-biscuit-eater instead. Nice touch....one monster in prison with no backup and the other finding redemption. KUDOS, Cohens! You did it again!

It was a good one for sure. The scene you mention, the Camp Utopia one, really threw me. Seemed so surreal in the telling, and so unlikely to have actually happened, yet from the context it didn't actually seem like a dream. I know it ended up that way, but I think they should have placed it in the show in some better way. That was about my only complaint. I'm also hoping Roy got his comeuppance in the jail of people he has no power over!

It's kind of fun how they take us on a little side trip outside the real story once in awhile...and then pull us back or just leave the weirdness hanging on it's own. s02 - Spaceship visiting a motel parking lot S02 S03 - The Hell/bowling alley s03 S03 - The investigation of the lady cop's father's early career as a secret sci-fi novelist. S05 - Camp Utopia in S05. I don't remember if there was an unusual "side trip" in S01 (Malvo/Billy Bob Thornton's season). Also I don't remember anything like that in S04 (Chris Rock's season)...but, to be honest, I don't remember much about that season because it didn't engage me as much as the other seasons. I do remember some kind of tornado weirdness, but I don't remember the details. ---- Btw, John Hamm says they had a great nippleologist on set that gave him prosthetic nipples with rings. LOL Jon Hamm's 'dedicated nippleologist' on Fargo deserves all the awards for his fake pierced nips https://ew.com/jon-hamm-fake-pierced-nipples-fargo-8405243

" That was about my only complaint." I'm from the "believe everything on Fargo until they tell you otherwise" school of thought. The side trips of weirdness are some of the best scenes for me because it's that unpredictability factor I love so much in TV shows and movies. And you really never know what's next. The Utopia Camp dream would've fit into the story perfectly if it had been as real as the flying saucer in S02!

The Utopia Camp dream was necessary because it gave us vital information about Dot's past. And such a creative way to do it. Not the violent flashbacks we are used to in other shows. The puppets -- just an effective and impactful way to reveal things about her past to us. And then the pangs when Linda's son asks Dot if she really had seen his mom. these are the layers that elevates Fargo over other shows.
