Prices have come down so much that I can buy a 2023 desktop for the same price that I bought a refurbished 2017 for, back in 2020. So I'd rather get new ones this time. I've always bought refurbished in the past.

As soon as I am done with a couple things I have to do in the yard, I am going to follow a video and deep clean my laser printer and see if that fixes it. This is what it looks like to print in color right now.

It's way too light even set on "best", it has horizontal streaks, and about an inch on the right side is completely missing a color.

See you with the "after" later today. Wish me luck!:-)

I fished cleaning it, but one of the toner cartridges literally started falling apart when I was putting it back in. So we have to wait until Thursday to see if it works any better when the new cartridges get here.

Hopefully, it will. Printers can be hard to fix. What make is it?

With respect to upgrading to Windows 11 they say that I can't do it on my desktop which is very frustrating considering the specs are pretty strong.

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core 4 GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB

I may eventually try what you did.

Oh yes, you definitely have strong specs. Stronger than the laptop I did it on. If you can, do it on a secondary drive just in case like I did.

Look how sparkly clean I got the inside of my printer. It's all put together now.

I was so scared I would break it. I had heard taking apart a laser printer is risky. Maybe not?

eta: That printer is over 15 yrs old.

I have to say I’m impressed. I’ve worked with a lot of printers over the years with my photography and when they go bad it’s very hard to fix them.

Naja is a little acclaimed rocket scientist in our midst.

And speaking of rocket scientists, I miss Landileigh. She wasn't able to post as prolifically in her later years, but I loved that she was always here watching over us, and if somebody really screwed something up or was about to, she would swoop in and save them/us.

Jimmer, my life with inkjet printers was nightmare. Never ever again, even if it was free. My laser is a Samsung CLX-3180 all in one.

This is the thread and archive where we learned of Landis passing. See post from Mamie and subsequent posts.

That entire thread is worth reading to remember friends we have lost from tvch.

Oh my goodness. So many passed around the same time my DH passed. No wonder I didn't know. That is so sad :-(
