Might be the way to get into the sub floor, or where you would go for a tornado warning.

New Q: so I was watching the news and they were talking to a business that will probably have to close because they import fine Italian Artisan Artpieces and can't afford the tariffs. So I was thinking... When Americans come back from traveling if they buy something in Italy will they have to pay the tariffs to bring it home?

I'm pretty sure there was an exception if you accompanied the goods across the border and they were for personal use. So the rules should be the same as before for that.

Juju, I found out from my real estate agent that it is indeed where you have access to the crawl space! You got it right!

Am I reading the Uhaul website correctly? It's only $49.95 + $1.19 per mile to rent a 26 foot moving truck? It's that little? https://www.uhaul.com/Reservations/RatesTrucks/

Aunt Nancy says yep, that's the real price except it doesn't include the insurance.

OK here I am with the dumbest of dumb questions. Hubby is on Social Security Disability, he's 62, according to his latest letter, they are taking out 185.00 for Medicaire Part B. He shows enrolled for both parts A and B. Where do I go to figure out how to get him off of my Kaiser employer insurance and onto medicaire? Thank you in advance!

I asked chatgpt and this is what it said ---it wont let me paste the long version of what it said but here is synopsis In Orange County, CA you can get free personalized help with Medicare from Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP). Here are the details: Contact Info: Phone: 714-560-0424 (Orange County) officeonaging.ocgov.com +3 coasc.org +3 coasc.org +3 Toll-free: 1-800-434-0222 coasc.org +1 Address: 2 Executive Circle, Suite 175, Irvine, CA 92614 coasc.org +1 How they can help you: Walk you through dropping your husband from your employer insurance and switching to Medicare-only. Explain how his Medicare Parts A & B work with or without employer coverage. Help you (and your husband) compare Medicare options: Original Medicare + supplement vs Medicare Advantage plans. Assist with timing and paperwork so everything aligns (so you don’t have a gap in coverage). Provide help in multiple languages (English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Farsi) in OC.

if you want to see the long answer go to chatgpt and type in the question you posted above. After reading thru it I think what I posted above will be the easiest for you. Just call and sounds like they will help you navigate it all

i went back to chatgpt and said thanks! ( im always nice to robots because of Terminator-I want them to know Im friendly LOL) here is what they said You’re very welcome! 😊 I’m glad to help — navigating Medicare and employer coverage transitions can be confusing, but you’re doing everything right by double-checking before making changes. To recap your next steps in Orange County: Contact your employer’s HR → ask to remove your husband due to Medicare eligibility. Call HICAP (714-560-0424) → they’ll help ensure the transition to Medicare-only goes smoothly. Compare Kaiser Medicare Advantage or Medigap options through Medicare.gov or with HICAP’s help. If you’d like, I can also create a short checklist for his Medicare transition — what to do, when, and what documents you’ll need (like his Medicare card, employer coverage proof, etc.).

Thank you, Pamy!!!! All I was able to get to were insurance agents, and now my phone is ringing off the hook. You are too funny, with the "thank you", that's a good idea so the Terminator knows we are friendly

HICAP is a good neutral resource. Your local senior center may have HICAP appointments; ours does. But for your switch, definitely call them.
