That's the issue we have really, not knowing if it's normal or not. We are the top house on the slope side of a hill, which was presumably leveled in some way to build the houses, so that might be adding to it. But I'm sure it's mostly the dried out soil because of the 4+ years of drought.

We tried a structural engineer from nextdoor - too busy. Tried a neighbour from nextdoor's company's structural engineer, but they didn't reply. I have quite a few options for contacting a foundation company, but then the issue is trusting them to diagnose something they then get paid to fix. Guess we'll have to get a couple of estimates.

Kitt, I'd ask the 'busy' structural engineer WHEN he might be able to slot you in (might be worth the wait). Or better yet... if he'd be kind enough reccomend someone reputable.

I did, he said he couldn't recommend anyone (which seemed rather strange in itself). It seems like they really don't want to work with homeowners, they want to be a foundation company's go to guy to rubber stamp what the foundation company suggests after they give the estimate.

We're going to contact foundation companies next week and just bite the bullet I think. And cross fingers they'll be honest.

Music Q: I have been wondering, is Kanye really a good musician or does he have really good lyrics, or is he just a "Wonderful Artist" because he makes such a to-do about everything.

I am seriously asking because I don't really know his music or rap or lyrics, whatever it is he does. I know it has changed over time and have been wondering if his music is actually good or if he is just a performer and that is why everyone raves.

I have heard some of this stuff but nothing really grabbed me as fabulous or something that would get stuck in my brain like other songs from other people.

It could be his music is just not my "style" so I wanted to ask because I am curious.

I don’t see a “morning news show” folder so I’ll
Just ask here. Why is Anthony Mason leaving CBS This Morning? I’m guessing they are pushing him out just to get new, younger blood in.

Scooter: thank you. I googled too and found that and a few similar pieces. What I am wondering is WHY he is leaving. I’m guessing it is not by his choice. Cuz it’s like he’s going way part time.

I like Anthony Mason, but doesn't surprise me. You can tell he is way more into music, culture, etc. I think he will be doing plenty of reporting on those subjects.

He has irritated me a little lately when he cuts people off on CBS This Morning. May be a matter of keeping everyone on time, but it's not comfortable to hear.

New Q: I have a couple of really good boxes that I can't figure out what do do with. One is from "Send a Cake" really well constructed etc. and another is round and tallish.

I just wish I could figure out something to use them for instead of just throwing them away. I will try and use them for Christmas gifts but other than that I am at a loss.

Just seems like there should be a way for them to be useful instead of landfill.

The oldies are the goodies: use them as storage, or decorate them and use them as storage. Unless you have cats around, then a cat house!

Hahahaha, I already have several boxes that are kitty forts. My cats wouldn't fit in these, LOL. I can't figure out what I could store in them.

These are small, the Send a Cake is gorgeous and I think a 5 or 6 inch square. I guess I will just have to put some candy or something in it for a gift.

Where do you keep your car title? Not long ago I got a new-to-me car (Carmax). I'd always kept my car title in my safe deposit box. One or two others I know said they don't. So where? Some place at home where you won't forget where you put it?

OK. Currently have title, passport, couple other documents in the same drawer here. Can stay there for time being.

Are safe deposit boxes used as much as I think they used to be? Mine is small. Car title I think was most important document in it.

I used to keep my stuff there, but it got to be too much of a hassle to look at them when I needed to.

Double sealed in plastic bags and frozen in a block of ice in the freezer. Copies in my lockbox at the bank -except passport.

My financial guy sent me a Colcase Fire Resistant Safe Bag for Christmas!

Thanks for the reminder I should move my important documents into it instead of the file folder in the file cabinet.

I do. Characterizing elderly as baffled and unable to understand is ageism, and not exactly very respectful.

New Q: All of a sudden Twitter is holding my tweets, in order words, when I go there it says "Show 18 Tweets". I don't understand why it doesn't automatically refresh.

I think this is right up Naja's alley to figure out, she knows Windows 11 and I suspect that is the problem.

I did google and did check to figure out if I had an extension that was causing the problem, but I don't.

I can't seem to figure out how to get "Refresh Tweets Automatically" to work.

Anyone have this problem and already solved it?

THANKS!!!
