We have a rather large tulip festival 25 mile south of us in WA State. Never heard of one in OR. But it si similar climate, so I don't know why not.

Apparently tulips get festive in different climates. The one near you sounds huge and there is one in Oregan. We grew them in Detroit and Holland, Michigan is very big in the world of tulips. https://www.travelawaits.com/2491266/best-tulip-festivals-united-states/

Heh, Bigdog and I have dozens of photos almost exactly like, but better than the one posted as #2 in the photo, because Mt. Baker is much clearer with more snow in ours. We're number TWO!! Yay. We have a VERY large Dutch population up here near the Canadian border, where almost ALL of the people are white. And tall, VERY tall. especially the women. I can get all kinds of pants that are long enough (34-36" inseam) in the thrift stores. Where I live, our population has more native Americans (3-4 tribes) than African-Americans.

The Oregon Wooden Shoe tulip festival is huge too. On a clear day, you can see Mt Hood.

The town where i went to college, the houses all had tons of tulips in their front yards. There were so many and it was so beautiful. Because of that I've tried growing tulips, but I was very disappointed by how short their bloom time was (a matter of a few days for me.) Between that and very bad squirrels, I've given up.

In Detroit, my mom had to dig up the bulbs and they were wrapped up in the garage for the winter. It was interesting that as years went by some colors merged, producing blooms with two colors. We grew Lilies of the Valley and I loved those.

And we live just 25 miles north of the USA's 2nd biggest tulip festival, in a fairly urban neighborhood, but deer LOVE tulips. like really LOVE. And it makes me wonder how they grow all those tulips just 25 miles south.

I have a question. Yesterday I had an attic fan put in. I realized after they had gone home from installing it, that it is far too weak for what I want. I mean with only one window open, it barely moves the curtain. Here's a picture.
Can you imagine if I had other windows open? Anyway, I wrote them and said they did wonderful work installing the fan, but it is far too weak. What will it cost me to switch it out for a stronger one? They wrote back and said they will get some numbers back to me over the weekend. I feel I should only pay for the difference in cost of the different fans. What do you feel is reasonable? I fear they will try to charge me for a whole new fan and full installation again. What do you think is reasonable?

I wrote them again and included the picture with this message. "I just wanted to let you know that it was so windy out yesterday that we really couldn't tell how strong the fan was. But here's a photo of just one window open and how much it moves the curtain. Can you imagine if I had 2 windows open? You'd barely be able to tell if it was on at all."

Did you buy the fan from them? And did they recommend the size of the fan you should have? If yes to both questions, I think you should only have to pay for the difference in cost for the new fan. Right now I need to buy stain for the deck and I keep feeling like the sales people are trying to shove down my throat what they have the most of in stock and mansplaining things to me. And the person I have staying with me temporarily and is going to be putting the stain down is adamant that I buy what they are trying to sell me, so I am suspicious of everything, so I'm thinking they sold you a fan they knew wouldn't work because that's what they had in stock, and they will try to gaslight you if you complain. Maybe you could YouTube or google your fan and it's size and see what size area it is actually for.

Yes, they chose and supplied the fan. All I told them was I didn't need it to be as strong as the fan in my old house. I explained to them how the one in my old house with several windows open would still pull all the doors closed and made the curtains look like there was a tornado outside.

ok, here is our interaction a few minutes ago. Electrician: That unit we installed is rated for the space you have, but I found a unit we can swap it out for that has double the cfm pull 3k. We can replace it for an additional 650$. That will cover the material difference, demo, and reinstall of the new unit. Well just hang onto the removed unit for a new future job, and make sure to use it in an even smaller space. But will be able to keep the costs from being at loss for us." ---- and I wrote them back "I feel since you guys chose the fan and it clearly is inadequate, installation costs shouldn't be put on me." Waiting for their reply.
