I am in the middle, yes in a 🎅 hat. By next Tuesday, we will have done 29 assisted living gigs for 2017. At least for those we are inside and seated, since we sing for an hour. And it is a win for all, since music is good for the brain, while singing exercises the other side of the brain. Good for us, good for our audience, too. That night it was really cold and we sang for quite awhile before he came out to get in the limo. Well worth it, and hospice volunteers drive us to the home, since it wasn't in our area and involved the infamous I 405 at rush hour. The hospice people worked hard to get this coverage by the LA Times. After a break, we will be back to a couple of gigs a month.

Loved the support scam article. Saw a link for it somewhere earlier today but got distracted and didn't get to it.

A heart warming practice. Have tissues. Tampa General nurses record the last heartbeats of dying patients, making a family memory http://www.tampabay.com/news/health/Tampa-General-nurses-record-the-last-heartbeats-of-dying-patients-making-a-family-memory_171900178

Thank you for sharing that, Kitkat. As the kids say, "it gets you right in the feels".

It is 10 degrees today. My bird feeders were filled with seeds and birds. I also threw out meal worms for the starlings and robins. I looked out front and saw a robin standing in the middle of my DRY heated bird bath. He was looking for water. I dashed out with water and filled the bird bath. Birds were drinking from it before I got back in the house.

Well, you managed to make me happy that it's 20° where I am. Not an easy feat! You also reminded me to check mine and it had black gunk in it so I scrubbed it out. I'm getting birds coming back from their winter vacation now, too. Grackles and red wings. Its fun to see them at first, but after a few days the returning flocks eat me out of house and home and it's time for them to move on. But I throw them goose corn and fill the platform feeder for them. 2000 miles is a long way to travel.

Grooch, mine are extra hungry and they seem to be multiplying. Yesterday a starling fell down my chimney. I propped open the flap of flue. Luckily he flew out and I was able to catch him in the house, before the dog did. What a story that bird had to tell to the flock. Cleaning up soot and leaves was a lot of fun.

I hate when that happens. You are a very good person. If you want a good laugh, see if your library has the book Guide to troubled birds. I believe you will appreciate it.

Dang, the rescued youths sure got lucky. You don't last long in 51 degree water with no wet suit.
