the stuffy judges are what needs to be replaced. Youngins wont tune in to watch their favs go because their foot left the floor or they didnt arch their back properly. I think they would have to have more contemporary type dances than strict ballroom.
it seemed like Tom was surprised he was let go so that makes it more curious. They must have really wanted to lure Tyra since they gave her producer cred

I don't know much about Tyra Banks except they despise her on social media. I get the impression she isn't very likable. I haven't seen one post that thought this was a good idea.

I may just skip this show (if it ever comes back). Cannot deal with Tyra Banks. I will miss Tom and Erin. ABC made a BIG mistake.
On the other hand, one of the comments I read said may Tom could take over for Nick Cannon on The Masked Singer. Nick may be on his way out after his antisemetic comments he made on someone's podcast recently.

I have to say that I'm very disappointed. I just can't see it without Tom. It won't be Dancing With the Stars without him. He was such an excellent host in every way. Plus I can't see Tyra as a replacement.
I liked the way the show used to be. The judges being a little stuffy in a fun way (especially Len  ) and the fact that ballroom dance was the emphasis with some fun freestyle thrown in. Plus the judges always let the fans decide at the end.
I'll give it a chance but I'll be surprised if I continue watching in the long run. They're going to lose some long-term viewers and they're not going to be attracting new ones. It's done.

I like Nick and his sparkly shoes, capes and turbans. From what I’ve actually seen, he seems like a nice fun person.
However, if he has made racist comments and attacked people then I don’t like that.

Oy vey! Boy can I pick 'em! NOT! I used to have the biggest crush on Chuck Woolery way back in the days when he was hosting Love Connection. On Twitter he has revealed himself to be a flaming antisemite.
I also thought Nick Cannon was absolutely charming and adorable and he turned out to be a raging antisemite.
I LOVE the idea of Tom Bergeron taking over The Masked Singer. One of DH'S favourite shows. I don't mind the show, except the judges annoy me, but I would become a bigger fan if Tom takes over.
But while another network fired Cannon (pardon the pun) last I heard Fox hasn't. Which has pissed me off to the nth degree. I want the antisemitic ex-Mr. Mariah Carey off my TV screen. Buh Bye!

I agree, Mameblanche! I'm okay with the judges on The Masked Singer, except for Jenny McCarthy. Ugh. I cannot stand her and her anti-vaccine BS and her stance on Autism. She says she "cured" her son's Autism with diet, which is total BS. You can't cure a neurological disease with diet. She does such a disservice to all those who have children with ASD (like me). She can't get off my TV screen fast enough for me.

Cannon hasn't been fired from the Masked Singer. Fox released a statement that he's learning from his mistake, bla, bla, bla.
I'm so mad about how DWTS fired Tom and Erin. I think they just jumped the Shark. Tyra is not a likeable person, and Tom and Erin were nothing but likable.

ITA about Tom and Erin. Although I don't know enough about Tyra to really have an opinion yet.
