Madison singing P!nk, not very impressive. She sounded flat to me. Not sure what the judges heard.

I thought Laine was the best in part 1 (followed close by Alejandro). I thought Madison wasn't singing with the music for most of her song. After part 1 (mentor selection) I would say the top 3 were Laine, Alejandro, & Madison (didn't think Wade's song did him justice & Laci isn't in the running IMO).

OK. Haven’t watched consistently enough, but the big, tall guy is totally looking at the judges like ‘Why are you here??’
And as asides he looks huge next to ryan!!!

Wade was okay with Rocket Man. Laci reminded me of a contestant singing in the Miss America. Nothing really spectacular. Her movements just do not seem natural. Yet, the judges love her.

I believe Alejandro was the best in round 2 (Elton round) followed closely by Laine. Wade & Madison were tied for 3rd IMO. Laci was better on her 1st song than this one.

All of them were good in the 3rd round (their tribute to their hero). Overall, I would pick Laine & Alejandro for sure & either Wade or Madison for the 3rd person.

Laine is, & has been my fav so I'm all for a win for him but the other 2 are deserving as well so I won't be upset no matter how the outcome next wk.

The show started out so well, but I’ve been bored by these singers the last few weeks. The only one I really like is Laine.

I will be happy with Laine or Madison winning. Laci's Elton song was so badly performed. Yet she still got all the judge gushing.

I too hope Laine wins it all, but I think Alejandro thinks he is going to win because the judges have told him he is.

The problem I see with Alejandro is that his music, while good, is more of a niche market. I get that he's very talented and awesome, but that type of music is not for everyone. Now that Laci is out, I think Laine will get her votes putting him over the top because I think that the Southern vote is a real thing. If Madison wins, it will be because Laine and Alejandro split the votes allowing her to sneak in the win.

I understand where Laci is a smoky voice, but then would she not be better singing arrangements that feature that voice instead of songs that are for belters?
I would have no problem with the mentors if they actually suggested that kind of arrangement. No one seems to see it though. It is just me?
Elton John wrote so much, I would think there would be something for everyone and no one needed to pick the wrong song. But then I remember how Idol tries to limit the song to force people to pick the wrong one.

I'm so glad Madison didn't win. She has that screeching voice that everyone has now. I never thought Laine would make it, though.

I am happy that Laine won, but I thought he would come in second to Jeremiah. That didn't happen,so glad he won. I hope if they renew the show for another season they get different judges.
I agree that the best song of the night was Jeremiah and Katy's duet. I also like how loyal Carrie Underwood is to the show.

as for another season,I hear that the show is being pushed to bring down costs, that means no Katy. I don't think she would take a pay cut for cheer leading. I think they should get rid of Trish, the exec producer, as well for the way that same day voting works and other exec decisions. Don't like it. Might be that Ryan may lose if they cut pay.
Was surprised that they got Carrie back, but it was a good thing.
I think the 3 hours was because of the same day voting. A one hour show with the contestants and 2 hours with celebration is more reasonable. 3 hours all at once, I got bored, tuned out.
