So scary. Sending prayers for your town and all the evacuees. And for snow. I have never prayed for snow before.

Yeah, very sad.. I lived out there for 10 years. Next canyon to Silverado and the fire on both sides. Irvine threatened.

Air quality down here took a nose dive, due to those really high winds Scooter mentioned. Those desert winds such out moisture too..

I was smelling bad smoke a bit ago and found out we have a vegetation fire over by highway 4, the smokey smell is dying down so I am hoping they got it under control.

And I just got an alert about a vegetation fire over by Highway 12 (not sure where that is but they said Sonoma County).

An estimated 60,000 people in the Irvine area have been ordered to evacuate due to the wind-driven Silverado Fire that sparked in Orange County's Santiago Canyon after it jumped the 241 Freeway today

Smoke from the Petersen Fire in Solano Co is being driven into Contra Costa by the high winds. At this time, no fires are reported in Contra Costa Co. If you have a respiratory condition, you should remain indoors if it is smoky. #staysafe

Oh and I forgot to mention. Yesterday when I went out for breakfast we saw a bunch of firetrucks gathering at the Regional Fire Training Center.

We wondered if it was in prep for this current fire danger.

I left work early since they had closed one of the fwys. I was afraid if I stayed til 5 I would get stuck and have to take a 2 hr detour. I could see the Yorba fire on the other side of the freeway, super scary. Then a little further up there was a fire ON the fwy, a car caught fire. Luckily a fire truck was nearby and got it out quick.

The Santa Ana winds were so bad it knocked down a tree in my neighborhood blocking the entire street. I had to come in the back way which I hate to do

We have 6,600 acres burned, one house damaged...the winds are not as bad today. Hopefully at sunrise (where's the effing sun???!!!) they can do some aggressive water drops

Yes! It is considerably less windy so far today.

Nothing compared to fire area but the winds were so harsh yesterday that my hibiscus bush was trashed. Thankfully all our big trees were just trimmed for the year.

Two massive wildfires burning in Southern California drove more than 80,000 residents from their homes this week as firefighters on Wednesday continued to battle the flames fueled by gusty winds and low humidity.

We have 16% containment on the Blue Ridge Fire here in Yorba Linda...thankfully! Evacuation orders are still in place, but progress is being made.

Hope they can really crush those fires before Santa Ana winds return, as they are predicted.
