Misspoufy Member 09-30-2004 Wednesday, November 25, 2015 - 11:03 am        One of the BEST seasons of DWTS ever! I thoroughly enjoyed the final three and am delighted Bindi and Derek won. A well-deserved win, imo. Glad to see Len will be back, he's a tougher judge and makes them truly aware of form and content whereas the others seem to judge more on entertainment value. When a pair gets a 10 from Len you know it's truly perfection. Kitt Member 09-05-2000 Wednesday, November 25, 2015 - 11:08 am        Yes we do need Len back. There wasn't any point in the judges scoring the final three dances if they were going to give them all 10s regardless of form (Alek) or mistakes (Nick). They might as well stick to viewer votes. Len had a knee replacement about a month ago, so I wonder if he missed the season mostly because of needing that done. I know he said he wanted to spend more time with his family, but if he is able to do more now because of his knee that will help him be less grumpy while jet setting from place to place. Kitt Member 09-05-2000 Wednesday, November 25, 2015 - 11:53 am        I think for Bindi though her experience with her father is exactly what she lived through on this dancing journey, and it's that journey that the free dance is meant to tell. Her dad might have died years ago, but she clearly hadn't processed it properly, and you can tell by the things Derek has said and Bindi's mother has said, that the openness and expression that dance had given her really had allowed her to free herself from some of that pain. I suspect it was a good thing for her mom and brother as well.. processing profound loss, but also watching her heal and grow before their eyes. It was clear when she read her eulogy to her dad at the funeral that she was leaning on poise and show must go on energy, and now she has been able to let go and weep more than once, while working so hard and learning so much. Color, yes, when I watched the show here on the west coast, Tom just said Alek would be on the tour, no caveat about selected cities that was included in the announcement about Hayes. Other than that they all got 10s, even Nick with his mistakes and Alek with him form issues. They might as well not bother and just let them dance. Sea, did you notice the way Bindi speaks has changed? When she started everything seemed so rehearsed and "the show must go on" and now she speaks like a normal person (well, a very poised normal person). Little Robert is very rehearsed with his words too, I hope some of what Bindi learnt can be transferred to him somehow. Derek said what he admired the most and learned from Bindi was that she faces every challenge with joy. He added something that she stares challenges down with joy. Maybe someone else can remember more than I did. I do hope I can remember this as it is such good advice for everyone. Thought it was nice of Nick to say that Bindi deserved the win. She did. Without the two women who dropped out, didn't the group really seem closer than in years past?
