Crazy.
I STILL don't understand the points awarded to Nick instead of Bindi when the viewers voted Bindi, yet Alexa was awarded the points even though 2 of 3 judges voted for Tamar (but viewers voted for Alexa).

Carlos instead of Bindi, but I think they will correct it and say they misspoke at the beginning of next week, and either Bindi will get votes or Alexa will lose them. Otherwise it makes no sense.

Oh... unless the public vote is equivalent to one extra judge, then it would be:
3 Carlos, 1 Bindi - Carlos wins
2 Alexa, 2 Tamar - Public's choice wins in a tie so Alexa
4 Andy, 0 Alek, Andy wins
but I'm just clutching at straws.
eta: yep, that's what it was:
"for the first time ever, each of the six couples that did not receive immunity got paired up to compete in a head-to-head dance-off to be voted on by America and the three judges. The couple with the majority of the four potential votes from each dance-off earned an extra two points, increasing their overall score." (from DWTS website)

The two couples in jeopardy were Alexa & Mark and Carlos & Witney. And Alexa & Mark were eliminated.

Pneumonia is an infection that can develop from a virus. Pneumonia that develops from a virus may not be contagious. However, I just read that bacterial pneumonia is contagious.

It certainly can be contagious.. well, as Jimmer says.. the cause of pneumonia can be contagious..

When I had it a few years ago, I took time off from driving cancer patients and going and working out at Curves, of course partly because I was exhausted, but also to avoid any chance of passing it along.
I haven't watched the show.. too early here, but just on Twitter, had to sigh and wish Tamar was just gone.
Alek clearly has quite the fanbase, as he continues to stay past couples with higher scores.

If she has already had it for two weeks and no one else has got it then what she has can't be very contagious. She's probably pretty run down and exhausted.
Anyway, I wish I wasn't so cynical but the exact timing of her return was rather good live TV. She did appear to be pretty sick though.

It also depends on each individual immune system and of course hygiene.
So she has something to blame for two weeks, I guess.
I'm also guessing that last week's viewer voting that gave her opponent the win by such a large margin didn't help her spirits much.
I'm cynical when it comes to Tamar, I think.

I do smell a bit of a rat too- I think Tamar knew she wasn't going to be able to dance twice- but the doctors probably said she could do one dance, and since the teamup would affect Nick's score as well as hers, she convinced the producers to let her just do the teamup, and agreed to be scored on her rehearsal for her regular dance. Even if she couldn't have gone at all and had to be eliminated, it probably would have only bought Alexa one week- she wasn't going to make the finals IMO.

i thought it was interesting that ABC aired the during the commercial exchange between Alexa and Carlo. She was crying and he said something to the effect of "this is what they want". I took it as they wanted us to be in elimination against each other.

and Mark really didn't care for Alexa. During the elimination he was standing so far from her while they waited for the team to be announced.
I also thought it was interesting that Derek kept fussing at Mark because he wasn't going to do a step that Bindi wasn't getting, yet Mark's philosophy seemed to be 'she needs to learn my steps regardless'.
And Pamy, I thought of you...Mark's accent seemed to be different tonight!

I was so hopeful Tamar would go tonight, she needs to go. I think the judges scored the team dance higher so it wouldn't affect Nick because her dancing was so out of sync with everyone else and she made several glaring errors, which no one pointed out.
I was sad to see Alexa go, but I think it was almost people voting out Mark over Alexa. His ego is glaringly obvious this year. It might be time for him to go be a rock star full time with his band.
I didn't hear what Carlos was saying to Alexa, but I wouldn't be surprised if the producers didn't set it up to be a Carlos vs Alexa elimination. They've emphasized the married couple angle all season.
I love watching Bindi and Nick also. Their enthusiasm is uplifting and their dancing is enjoyable. It's nice to see two people who have no dance experience doing so well. (I do not count the boy band "stepping" as dance experience)

I'm not sure it was so much that Mark didn't care for Alexa (any less than other dance partners). It's just that the whole thing was awkward with a married couple both up for elimination. Of course, it's likely that Dancing With the Stars did that deliberately. Plus I don't think Mark takes being eliminated before the finals very well. He is very competitive.

I don't think Carlos was in jeopardy. I also think he will pick up votes that would have gone to Alexa.
Mark just didn't seem to be patient with Alexa.
