My chart is in Family Search, the LDS site. They have several records and everything is free. There is a lot of wrong information on bunches of trees. When I look at other trees to maybe get a hint to find info on someone some of them haven't cited a single source even though they are on a site with free info. It's scary to think that future generations will accept a tree as fact.

I use Family Search for records. It's hard to figure out why people won't cite their sources, especially when it's so easy. Without the citations, they're no more than rumors. I just shake my head at things I see, for instance a baby born before its mother. We can just hope the future generations will do better!

To add to the topic, I really like WDYTYA. It's interesting to watch the celebrities' reactions to each new piece of information. I would love to have experts research one family line for me. It would be great to have that handed to you and to be able to travel to all the sites. I do love the challenge of the search though, so I wouldn't want to have it all done by professionals.

I would really be interested in learning about my maternal grandmother's ancestry. She died when my mother was a teen and being they were of no means I don't even have a picture of her. I tried following her family on Ancestry but didn't get very far. Maybe I'll try another site and get my DNA checked out.

"Who Do You Think You Are?" Best. Episode. Ever. I've never heard of this guy, but he's genuine, endearing, and insanely funny. The episode starts off with a horrible story, but stick with it - I promise you're going to do a lot of smiling. Link is to Youtube WDYTYA episode on Danny Dyer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRyOCvhEX1g

It's an hour long so I'll have to watch it later. I guess this is the British version of " Who Do You Think You Are". I wasn't sure you were posting here anymore. I sure do miss you in the News and Views section. You have such a brilliant mind. I also wanted to know if you were reunited with your cats. I know you left them with friends while you were transitioning to another state.

Lastnight we watched the first two episodes of the new season. I didn't recognized the two actors, one from Orange is the New Black who's ancestor went from being a slave to being the only black property owner. And the other was in a popular sitcom from years ago who's ancestor was an indentured servant that was shipped to America. But the American History they explored was powerful and quite educational. I sure hope that anyone that didn't get a chance to watch can find it somewhere and maybe post the link. Well worth the watch!!

They were Jon Cryer and Laverne Cox. I can't believe you don't know Jon Cryer! I guess he's best known as "Duckie" from he 80s Molly Ringwald movie "Pretty in Pink", and the sitcom "Two and a Half Men" that ran for 12 years. But he's done so much more.

Jon Cryer is married to Lisa Joyner from TLC's Long Lost Family.

Tonight's show with Megan Mullally is definitely one of my favorite episodes. The life of her 2x great grandmother was so interesting.

I didn't realize Jon Cryer was married to Lisa Joyner. Interesting! I thought the Laverne Cox episode was excellent and thought provoking. There was so much of the story that couldn't be explained - like how her relative had a good enough relationship with his former owner that he had a life estate interest in her land until his death. Wouldn't that be a great story to hear? Talk about the triumph of the human spirit over adversity! I've never been a fan of Megan Mullally but I did think the story was interesting. I thought her fan girling over her relative's second husband was a bit stupid though...and then he turned out to be as abusive as the first husband. Odd that the penchant for domestic violence seemed to have been passed down over the generations.

I've been binge watching recent episodes and have decided that Hillary Duff is either supremely dumb or supremely uneducated.

Wow. I just found my people! (you guys, not my ancestors). Can hardly believe there is a board for genealogy shows. As very long time family genealogists my daughter and I watch them all the time. We can't help but have opinions on the celebrities' responses to the findings. Will be back when the show starts airing again.

Welcome, Patti! I'm a long time family genealogist who watches these shows too. I get a kick out of some of the celebrities' reactions. When I think back to some of my early reactions when I first started though, I get it.
