The Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season BEGINS THIS WEEK.
While a below average Atlantic Ocean hurricane season is expected, a very hyperactive PACIFIC hurricane/typhoon season is EXPECTED this year with increased odds for moisture to impact areas across the western U.S, especially the southwest later this summer and fall as a very strong/super El Nino is forecast.

LIGHTNING FIRES & DRY MICROBURSTS have been occurring across southwest Kansas into the
Oklahoma and Texas panhandles into New Mexico this afternoon.
High based severe thunderstorms with damaging winds (70-80+ mph gusts). The lightning causes wildfires and then the thunderstorm winds help spread them.
In addition, blowing dust and wildfires are occurring, and even hail won't be totally ruled out.
Remember, any fires that spark could quickly become large! Be aware!

WILDFIRE OUTBREAK possible today across the Texas Panhandle, western Oklahoma into Kansas & eastern Colorado as dry thunderstorms and damaging winds occur later this afternoon.
Lightning causes wildfires and then the winds will quickly spread and make the fires become large.
People need to be ready to evacuate at any moments notice! Heed local officials.
