Well, the pork finished 5 minutes ago and the rice is still cooking.
I have a friend who is staying with us, and even though I think he's great, he's been getting on my nerves with the man's planning, and not listening when I tell him how something should be done.
I told him the rice might take another 20 minutes, but I can nuke a flavored rice bag in 90 seconds.
He insisted that the machine isn't hot enough. I told him that it's cooking and the machine is insulated. He wanted me to open it to check it. I told him no. I figure it's like an instant pot or something, and it will screw up the cooking. Or screw up the time leftvon it. Besides, your never supposed to take the lid off when cooking rice on the stove.
Well, he went over and opened it! He insists it's almost done. I see a soupy pot of rice that is going to take some time.
Well, he's stuck having cold pork and I'm giving him the end of it where I poured the pepper on it because I opened the wrong side of the pepper container.

He just walked into the kitchen and opened it again. He's claiming it's done.

Well, it wasn't bad. Kinda on the sticky side, but you're suppose to fluff it up when you open the lid after it's done. He didnt do that.
Im going to try it again tomorrow during the day and do it correctly.

Japanese rice cookers generally make sticky rice, which I LOVE, and which I think is the only way to eat rice. I spent the summer after my first year of college (after both of my parents had died young) with a college friend and her mother on Kauai. I don't think we had sticky rice for breakfast, but we did at almost all other meals, and, of course, we ate it with chopsticks. Sticky rice is SO much better than those hard, dried kernels of rice that pass for rice in most of the rest of America.

They did the Mexican dinner well last night, I actually liked the Spanish rice and I am not usually a fan.
Juju, I love sticky rice but I also like white fluffy rice in the morning with butter and sugar, LOL.

I hate a lot of foods, but I do like chicken livers and onions or calf liver and onions, but all other onions, I mostly pick out of foods. I cannot eat raw onion at all, but fried onions are fine.
