News: Special Food Forum today at 3pm!

Wonder if it is just announcing that we can get dinner until 6:15pm. We'll see.

LOL, the last seating is 5:30pm, and the last pickup is 6.00pm. It is annoying because when they presented this change it was billed at 7am to 7pm, then they kept shortening it.

Well they did, they moved the Manager/Chef out and will be trying to hire someone who can deal with our "not commercial" kitchen. I don't think they have a good understanding of the fact that the kitchen is not a regular one so you really have to juggle to make it work.

The most astounding Resident comment was that the morning guy only came in at 5 to 7 for his 7 to 11 shift. I asked why he would come in earlier for his shift and they said "because he has to set up for us". My response, well then they need to pay him to come in at 6:30; would you work for free?

Crickets, they just want everything to revolve around them without thinking anything thru, it never ceases to amaze me with some of these folks.

It should be fun to see how things go moving forward, I am sorry to see Adrian go, he improved a lot of things but I am not sure he could ever have pleased some of these people.

Dipo - that would be annoying!

Who's going to cover while they are trying to find a replacement?

We have the "support chef" who travels around and fills in at different places. She was here when we first switched over so we shall see how it works. Supposedly she will change things and rework things and solve problems identified by residents and corporate.

Dipo, aren't they afraid of you? Get your big stick out again, and go after that swai. Or not.

Exactly. And it's a start. You have to keep them on their toes, or before you know it, they will be describing the (cheap meat turkey) tacos as just tacos.

Hahahahahaha, everyone fails to remember that they don't have a commercial kitchen. Camille, the support chef, approached me yesterday and we had a nice chat. I tried to remind her that their "stats" of who likes what meals are not that accurate. Some people here have to eat the meals, they don't have the funds to buy a lot of delivery meals or shop and cook. So we shall see how it goes.

Well I wasn't impressed with the Italian Wedding Soup but the Shrimp Alfredo was great.

Can't wait to see what they do with the dinner tonight.

I bought a Japanese rice cooker at a yard sale last summer and I'm trying it out for the first time right now.

It didn't come with instructions. I googled them and thankfully I found out it needs a special measuring cup. The Japanese use different measurements than us.

It says it takes 40 minutes from start to finish. I find that hard to believe. But I put it on 10 minutes before I put the pork tenderloin on.

We shall see. It's all an experiment!
