Taco Tuesday tonight. Home made and one of our workday favorites. We were talking this morning about post retirement menus. Will be different but not over the top. We like to try different recipes so probably will experiment more since we’ll not be driven by Carey’s irregular work hours.

Should add that calling any Taco night Taco Tuesday came about because I lost track….thanks to retirement….and said that one night when indeed it wasn’t Tuesday. Been a home joke ever since. What seems to keep me on track is garbage days are Monday and Thursday and I have to put it out by the curb. Recenters my sense of what day it is. 🤪😳😀

Interestingly The Bistro is having trouble it's main oven... it's broken, waiting for a part. You would think with the remodel they would have put in new appliances!!
So we may or may not get the menu for dinner. Not sure how we are supposed to know what for dinner if we don't actually go down there.
I did mention this, and indicate that they need to figure out a way to let us know this stuff more easily.

One way to get the daily menu out would be a “community” website. Of course that probably ought not to be the only way because maybe not all of the residents are Internet savy.

Unfortunately electronic methods don't work when you have so many who didn't grow up using laptops and smartphones. Most don't understand that their phones are computers.
I was thinking what they really need is a PA/Announcement System like on Cruise Ships, LOL.
Currently they do printed hand-outs at the door but we have a few people who never leave thier apartments so sometimes they don't check the printed deliveries.
Something to ponder some more.

Mrs Mack on her second to last business trip to Washington, DC so I’ll just craze the pantry or refrigerator. No fancy meals this week and I have a couple of leftovers to consider. With the cold weather I’m thinking clam chowder tonight.

Mack, if she already left, I hope she took very warm clothes with her. This week is going to continue to be brutal.
When is she getting back? On the news tonight, the weather person said that we are getting a bad storm this weekend. Where I live, it was originally going to stay to the south of me, but now they're saying it's going to hit where I live and we can get 8 inches to a foot of snow. Ack!
And she said the south will not be prepared for the storm because they don't have the equipment to handle it. I know DC can handle it, but I hope she gets home before it hits.

Mrs Mack has also seen the forecast for the DC area. She leaves like at 8 AM Friday which is supposedly and hopefully ahead of the weather this coming weekend. She said the forecast was for up to two feet of snow. I lived up there for 16 years and once we married she lived up there for four years and knows she needs to get home. Even here in San Antonio the weather while not anywhere that bad is not forecast to be good. I have exterior work that needs to be done and the contractor and I delayed it basically for two weeks.
To keep this within the subject matter for this thread the clam chowder was good. Tomorrow night is leftovers of a chicken orange maple cranberry crockpot dinner we had Sunday. A first try and it was incredible with rice.
