RN, I'm so blessed that my friend and her husband are taking such good care of Red. They were here this morning, and the corral is such a mud pit from the recent rains, there's no way I could get out there to even feed him.
He is putting more weight on the hurt leg, and hasn't developed a fever - both are very good signs. He's VERY unhappy with being confined to a stall however.

Tomorrow my friend will take the bandage off and assess for swelling as well as send photos to the vet.

Also - any ideas for some kind of gift I could give her for taking such good care of him?

RN Kar, it sounds like there was no tendon damage if he puts even a little weight on it.

Restaurant gift certificates are always appreciated.

Oh, good idea, Dogdoc!

I think the worry was damage to the joint capsule itself, because of the location of the laceration. But I would think he would not be weighting it if that were the case?

I like the restaurant idea. It also helps a local business in these times.

Fingers crossed all goes well today with Red.

RN I am so beat from work. I come home and basically go to bed. 3 more days til I get a day off. And maybe sooner if the son boss acts out on me again.

These boots were made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days, these boots are gonna walk all over you...

RN Thanks Grooch!

RN OMG, look at my little cousin at her dance show. She's the little bit taller one, second from left when they line up across. She's quite off beat, but that's ok :-) You can just click away the thing that asks you to sign in.

RN, anxiously awaiting my friend to get here to change Red's bandage.

Also, my DS and his fiance are taking me out to lunch for Mother's Day today to Casa Bonita. If you haven't heard of it, it's a Mexican restaurant with cliff divers, and other entertainment. It was closed for a while, and then purchased, renovated and re-opened by the guys who created the animated series South Park. Kind of a Colorado icon!

Grooch, hopeyou have a better day!

And Naja... what a cutie patootie she is!

RN it's been raining like a monsoon. I am drenched to the bones and back and I am overtired and grumpy.

I had come to work in a good mood and it was sunny.

RN I went home at lunch and changed. And now I just got sent home. I have a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup outside to measure rain. It's rained a full pint and still going. It's about 6 inches of rain. It's suppose to stop raining in half an hour. I don't believe it. Though the birds are starting to come out, so maybe it will.

RN, I'll bite ... Karuuna, how do they have cliff divers, LOL, did they build a pool, is there a cliff / stream somewhere that I was unaware of in Colorado, hahahahaha.

Very curious.

Colorado definitely has mountains, but I do associate cliff diving with coastal areas..

So.. It is legendary and here is the info, which Karuuna has already provided, but even more

RN, funny Dipo! There is a very deep pool in the building, and fake cliffs built on one side. That's where the divers dive. they're quite good too... but it sure makes me nervous to watch!

RN, I'm exhausted, so i'll post pics of Red tomorrow, he's putting more weight on that leg and seems to be feeling better!

Posted a photo in the birds and other animals thread, so not everyone would see it if they didn't want to.

Will post a photo of Casa Bonita in my folder!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

RN I just found a dead sapsucker in the middle of my back yard.

I hope it was a hawk that killed him and not bird flu.
