RN I can't stop laughing I'm watching 2 tiny dogs for an older couple, and every time old guy uses speech to text, instead of "pottie", it is texting as "party". So to get them to go out I'm supposed to say "Let's go party!" hahaha There were a couple more. Oh jeez were we laughing. He has a couple party animals. LOL

Does he work? If not, he may be home all day. What do you know about him?

RN I just put in an Amazon order for acrylic pens. Took me forever to pick, because I was fighting Amazon to show me what I was interested in, not what they were trying to push on me to buy. I had a whole bunch of them, and I used them last summer, but I can't find them now and I searched pretty much everywhere. Instead of keep looking I figured I might as well get fresh ones before the tariffs kick in and they double in price. Hopefully, my old ones will show up. So far, I'm stocked up on paper towels (I use a lot), coffee, sneakers, my gardening supplies (including dirt) and now my markers. The only thing I can think of that I still want to get is socks. Gotta check out what I have first.

Well, before there was any talk of tariffs, I knew coffee would be going up because of climate change. A 3 lb can of Chock full of nuts and Costco's Kirkland brand were only $10 last year. Then the Kirkland brand kept rising by a dollar every other month. The CFON stayed the same price. So, whenever we went to Costco, my bf kept telling me it might be a good idea to get an extra can of coffee. Who am I to disagree if he's paying for it. Lol. CFON must have had a contract with Costco, because Kirkland went up to $15, while the other stayed the same until like a month or 2 ago. It's now $15, too. But! Kirkland's decaf is now $20! I'm sure the regular coffee will follow suit soon. And this is before tariffs. I can't imagine Starbucks surviving.

RN Just got this in the mail about my Survivor benefits. Looks like I won't have to wait very long to find out! I blocked any personal info. https://www.mediafire.com/view/cmc4n8anol5o81m/SSAClaimstatus.jpg/file

RN Well, the SS office sent back my Marriage License and DH's death certificate by certified mail, like they said they would, and also a letter pretty much recapping everything and reminding me about purgery, and if anything looks inaccurate in the letter, to let them know. But it all looks correct. I think it's all going smoothly, knock on wood!

RN Well, that sweet little GS puppy Apollo has turned into a monster at 5 months old. He flips over full water and food bowls on purpose. My kitchen floor is covered in towels and muddy foot prints. It doesn't help that it's it's been raining and he loves mud. I am showing one of the rooms at 3:00 and I hope I can get this place in shape by then

When is Apollo leaving? I'd put a gate up to keep him out where the food and water is and take him out on a leash to pee so he can't run around and get muddy. To bad you don't have a heavy cast iron pot to put the water in so he can't flip it over. Do you have anything else around that is heavy and will hold water?

RN He goes home tomorrow night. I also have a little shih tzu and Yorkie here and they hate Apollo. I have to keep them in different rooms unless I want to hear constant barking. I actually have a flip proof bowl outside on the deck, and he empties that one by splashing all the water out by digging in the bowl.

RN Well, the ole Mexican guy was a little creepy looking, he's very tiny, but very nice. He'll let me know tomorrow if he wants the room.

RN The Mexican guy said no. That's ok. I have another nibble from a male RN in his 60s. I prefer people in the medical profession as roomies anyway. They have long work days.

RN Me too! RN Ack! The starlings have arrived. They bathe and poop in the standing water on the pool cover and make a noxious fuming soup. I've been siphoning the water off, but you have to leave a little so the wind doesn't lift the cover off during the spring storms.

You don't get mosquitoes? Here we have horrible tiny mosquitoes that can breed in the tiniest amount of water and their bites are so itchy.

RN The pool is usually open before the mosquitos are out.

It’s still a little too cool for mosquitos even in south central Texas so I’m sure that’s true further north. Since we run our pool 365 days a year it never has or will provide standing water for mosquitos. Additionally the chemicals alone will keep mosquitos from using the pool even if it wasn’t running. We do have a bird bath and I rarely go more than two days without hosing it out. That’s pretty much a total water replacement so again mosquitos don’t have the chance to lay eggs and have them mature. With the ongoing drought here we get literally dozens of birds a day drinking and bathing in the bath so they keep it pretty stirred up.

RN, I always put a beach ball or other big floaty under the cover, to keep the water from accumulating, but that wouldn't help with the wind issue.
