RN The more I think on it, I think the woman was mistaken about the extra $500. I think that's what I would get if I waited until I was 65. I'm hoping I'm wrong!

RN I don't feel right keeping the deposit, but I did tell him he will have to wait for it.
RN I thought maybe I could log into my SS account and see the amount, but this is all that's there concerning it. It does acknowledged my appt yesterday, and that teeny tiny last line says "We will send you a notice with a detailed explanation of our final decision".
There's no personal info on this cap of the info, so I thought I'd post it.

Relieved you actually got the call! Yes, until you get the official breakdown you won't know for sure on the amount, but at least you are on the next step!

RN, unfortunately Naja you won't get any more information until immediately before you get your payment, from what I've seen.
You'll stay on step 2 until at least 30-45 days before then. So don't panic if it doesn't move for a long time.
In the SS Facebook group I belong to, people just see that Step 2 message for months and months, so it's not really helpful.
You said your first payment isn't due for 90 days, right? In that case, you may not see anything for at least 30-60 days from now.
If you're worried, I'd call back.

RN At this point I'm not worried anymore  The documents they need are in today's mail and just have to go across town.
I'll leave it as surprise if I do get the $500 more than I figured. I hate to pray for money, but I may make an exception. LOL

RN did our Federal income taxes yesterday and submitted them electronically. That’s always a lot of fun….NOT. Did have to pay a little but we run it pretty close on our withholding so we don’t pay or get back a lot. Got the email this morning that the IRS had received and accepted our return.

RN How come no one ever told me about "Poo Squad"? I can even write off their services!
A lady (with her 2 dogs) I just had a meet and greet with told me about it. I'm watching her 2 dogs later this month.
$65 a month to clean up all the poops in your yard. They come once a week.

RN, Naja, I didn't realize that you didn't know this service was offered! I'd look around... there may be others who offer it less expensively. There are probably 2 big companies, and a lot of small backyard services that do it in my little town.

RN Kar, during my meet and greet today, the woman (maybe early 60s) said she moved here from Aurora, CO. I asked her why she moved and she said because the Venezuelan gangs were taking over. A red flag went up that she must be extreme MAGA, but before I make that judgement, is there really a problem with Venezuelan gangs in Aurora?

No, there is not. There was ONE apartment complex with absentee landlords (from Texas) that became problematic. Tenants complained again and again, but still the out of state landlords did nothing. It did become a mess and there was some criminal activity, some gang activity, some of which seem to have been from Venezuela.... but when ICE raided they found zero gang members. The local police had previously arrested about ten, I believe.
The city finally condemned the buildings for code violations, but almost all of those living there were *legal* immigrants.
The story got blown up by Trump, and unfairly so. The problem was criminal activity, and Aurora (which is where I get my cancer treatment and is the home of the large research Medical Center there) is by no means being "taken over."
