Scooter, it's the same deal as with the turkey!

Why would somebody have turkey soup with a chicken thigh? Make it make sense!

I'm still eating every night at Naja's house.

This is what we were eating a year ago. Theres no turkey or sweet potatoes to be seen. Bring the old service back!
----

Tonight was Poached Tilapia in a creamy wine sauce
OR
Pepper Pork Loin in a garlic gravy

Both served with rosemary rice pilaf and dill roasted squash.

Dessert was apple pie.

I had the Tilapia which was very good and some apple pie a la mode, yummy.
-------
Tonight was Giant Meatball over linguine pasta and marinara sauce

OR

Chicken Pesto Casserole - Chicken Breast in a creamy pesto sauce baked with pasta, broccoli, cauliflower and cheese.

Lemon Cake for Dessert.

I had Spaghetti w/Meatball which was excellent. The Chicken Pesto looked really good too. And I love the lemon cake.
-------

Jack Daniels BBQ Ribs - spiced rubbed and grilled ribs with Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce; served with Mac/Cheese and Mixed Veggies

OR

Parmesan Lasagna - Layered with Creamy Parmesan Sauce and Baked until Golden Delicious served with a dinner roll.

Key Lime Pie for dessert.

I had the ribs, they were fantastic and I love the key lime pie.
-------

Interesting tonight.

Pollo Fiesta - Lemon pepper chicken, pinto beans, spanish rice, Lettuce and Pico de Gallo in a tostada bowl topped with sour cream.

OR

Super Beef Wet Burrito - Beef, Rice, Refried Beans, Cheese wrapped in a Tortilla and topped with Red Chili Sauce, Pico de Gallo and sour cream.

So I had half and half since I haven't really cared for the mexican food. First there wasn't a tostado bowl, must not have come in the delivery, but the food was good.

I preferred the Burrito, the chili sauce had some zing, served with the sour cream the whole thing was yummy.

Lemon Bars for dessert were excellent.

LOL, I know I have asked them what they have against russets, and requested that we get a loaded baked potato as an ala carte item.

I agree, I really liked the old service but people hear seem to think having a Hamburger (no fries) or Pizza (made with pita bread) is better.

The robots are having a bit of a problem. Yesterday the internet to the kitchen (not the same as the residents) was going in and out so they couldn't use them, LOL.

We are trying to find some big gold eyelashes to put on them and maybe some eyebrows for one if we can find them.

I know, I am thinking about emailing the Manager's boss and asking why Turkey is on the menu so much. It could be a corporate directive, the same thing with sweet potatoes.

I'm convinced the food service company owns a turkey/sweet potatoes farm. Or a relative of the owners does.

LOL that's funny. I'd actually be interested in trying the Stroganoff, but NOT THE TURKEY RICE SOUP!
ENOUGH ALREADY

Sweet potatoes are offered everywhere now as a healthier option to potatoes. Every restaurant and fast food place around me has them. I don't like them any more than I liked kale. I'd rather make other changes in my diet to accommodate the ability to have regular potatoes.

As for turkey, I have a turkey sandwich on wheat every day for lunch and love it but I don't like it for dinner or in soups. Go figure.

It's good to see the tilapia in there. If they're concerned with healthy meals, offer more fish. It does look like they're improving overall compared to when they first started.

Well I don't mind sweet potatoes if I can choose between them and russets, but we don't get a choice here!

We did ask them to put fish back on the friday menu at least during lent, so that change was made. And apparently The Bistro Manager is trying to make some changes -- still no eggs, I broke down and paid $10 for a dozen today. So I will be making eggs all week, LOL.

Got a Trader Joe's nearby? Ours is selling Large free range eggs for $3.99 a dozen, limit one. Every single cart checking out has a carton of eggs in it.
