RN: I went to Costco yesterday and my 3 lb can of coffee I get went up in price by $6! Yikes!

I'm assuming it increased so much because the contract Costco had with Chock full of Nuts must have ended and the company could raise its prices. But, Yikes! Glad I stocked up.

My Yakult probiotics drinks didn't go up, but we lost the discount for having a Ralph's card. And the factory is right here in Fountain Valley, so the product is not imported. The ingredients, or substance to make the bottles, possibly imported. But it would be from Japan, not China.

RN I don't need an appt. I can do it on the phone. Almost everything is phone appt, with a few exceptions. As long as you know how to snap photos or scan your paperwork and send it in email, you can do it on the phone. They take their time, too. Patiently waiting for the emails to arrive, or while you're fumbling with sending the things, etc.

When I called at the beginning of the month, the woman told me to call in March or April, and directed me to the list of things to have ready when I call.

Ahh, good in terms of safety, but lacking the personal part. Especially when she asked if I considered filing under my ex husband's acount. Um, no.

Then she quietly said my benefit was better.

Well, yes, since he went for years not working.

But I hope you get an clear answer as soon as possible!!

Naja, for what it's worth, I did my app 100% online. Because I applied for both SS and SSDI at the time, they followed up with a phone call.

Older .. I made an appointment and then went in in person but there were walk in appointments then too. But things change with time, change with pandemic and out of the lockdown we did get some things like zoom and virtual concerts and lectures and appointments and those can open up the world for anyone not able to or not comfortable with in person to still have a richer world.

LOL, yeah, buckle up, Baby, because the child employees in stores will flat out lie to you just to get rid of you, AND to cover up the fact that they know nothing. Although I did have one practically chase me down an aisle a couple days ago when I was looking for Worcestershire Sauce, and he KNEW it was aisle 17, then go left, and then about halfway down the aisle, on the right!! And of course it was. I should have gone back and hugged him.

RN:

Saw this, no idea how true it is. But you can try if it applies to you.

Are you disabled? Do you Amazon Prime? Here's a cool way they don't advertise to get almost 50% off!

Go to Amazon Prime.
Change plan
At the bottom, discount for students or EBT. Click EBT.
Choose other. Here, you can submit a document proving you are on SSI, Medicaid, SNAP, Etc.

That's it! Enjoy!

RN Yep! I do the $6.99 a month deal for Prime.

Walmart has a similar deal. $49 for a Plus membership for a year. Besides free shipping and delivery, it even includes Paramount+.

Oh! Thanks for reminding me of this. I think my Paramount+ super-deal is going to run out soon, and I have sort of broken down my 25+ year aversion to shopping at Walmart, so the $49 Walmart+-Paramount+ deal might make sense for me this year.

Dang, who knew I could get that many +'s in a couple sentences??!?!

RN My post above about Walmart also pertains to folks on any of the help programs like SNAP, mediad, etc. It's alled "Walmart+ Assist".

https://www.walmart.com/plus/assist

"1.11.1 Walmart+ Assist. Walmart+ Assist is a discounted membership program provided for the benefit of individuals who are eligible for certain government assistance programs, specifically SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, SSI, TANF, TTANF, NSLP & LIHEAP."

I posted on Jan 12 that 1 dozen large eggs at walmart were up to $5.46. Today, Feb 21, they are $5.97! Is it going to stop?

Nope. And expect bakery goods, mayonnaise and anything else that needs eggs to go up too.

RN Jeez! (About Turkish eggs)

RN In about an hour and a half, baby German Shepherd dog Apollo will be here again. The first time I sat him he was 8 wks old, the second time maybe 3 weeks later. Now he is 4 months old and I can't wait to see how much he has grown! I'll post pics to compare later.
