Pretty darn chilly out on the balcony. I brought in my Christmas Cactus -it is not doing well with the freeze warnings. Sky is bright with lots of clouds and a few bits of blue. A very tiny breeze with temps going to 55. There is a High Wind Warning in place for the Coast from SF to Monterrey.

Pretty much every day in the 12 days we have been home from TX has been below freezing, and it snowed the first full day we were home, so the snow is still on the ground. And we rarely get snow in this town, so we do not have much snow removal equipment. Oh, and I have had a cold all 12 days we have been home, but I am getting better every day.

So now the weather app says rain starting at 4:30am, so the storm is arriving later.

Big drop in temperature here in San Antonio today. Yesterday it was close to 70F and this morning it is 34F with wind chill in the mid 20’s. I should have put the garbage out last night but got lazy. Paid for it this morning as I had to put my seldom used parka on to get the mini-dumpster to the street. 🥶

So, lets see ... it's been raining most of the night and morning with a few breaks. It's not heavy but steady. I have a bit of flooding on my balcony and have seen lots on the morning news.. We have evacuation orders and flash flood warnings in Santa Cruz, specifically Felton going on. Finally we have had 2 earthquakes over in Hayward. It's been a busy day and oh, temps going to 56.

Today looks calmer here, but just upriver in our local mountains there were evacuations for fear of mudslides from burn scars from previous years.
