RN Remember my best tenant and friend Yolanda? She had to have her dog put to sleep yesterday and she is so sad. The incredible thing about this dog (Chata), is it was 20 years and 6 months old!

RN, Naja, does Yolanda know about TVCH? Tell her we send our condolences... 20 years is a long time for a pup to live, and she must be missing him so much.

RN, 20 years is a long time. I’m glad Chata had such a good life but it’s hard to say goodbye.

RN I just got home for the tax accountant's office and I am so happy! I have been paying quarterly taxes for the dog business, a bit less than I should have, so I was fully expecting to pay 700 or 800 more.

Guess what? I get a little refund! YAY! I am so relieved because the homeowner's insurance bill is coming up and now it won't hurt as much.

Just over 4 months until relief arrives! :-)

RN it’s door replacement day at the Mack’s house. Lots of banging and prying as they are removing the front door right now. Four man crew to replace all three external doors and they are saying they’ll get them all done today. Luckily we’re in what is called locally as false spring so temperature is in the 70’s. Next week we go back to more typical winter like weather and that’s called second winter around here. Real spring comes in about four to five weeks.

Congrats, Mack! It's got to be a relief.

We're still waiting til spring to get our huge windows done. We're lucky if the day gets up to 32 degrees this winter. We haven't had a winter this cold since 2010. I remember it well. I had to go out every 2 hours across an all ice back yard to give the chickens unfrozen water.

Starting tomorrow, we have 3 weather systems hitting us for the next few days. It's going to be a real mess.

RN, That’s great, Mack. Good timing.

Hang in there, Grooch. I love Christmas but around this time of year I’m pretty done with the cold weather and looking forward to spring.

RN I bought my car Dec 31. I still haven't gotten anything from anybody about making payments. Very odd.

RN, back when my DS bought his car it took about 2 months to get a payment book. They gotta wrack up some interest right at the start, apparently.

Argh.

And thanks. At least I don't have to worry they are going to come and repo it. :0)

RN the new doors are all installed. They have a little trim work to do on the back doors and touch up paint on the new interior trim but the doors are basically done. What a difference! They block much more noise from outside and the occasional draft in the family room has disappeared. We can now get out to our patio without struggling with broken doors. It was expensive but well worth it. We’re so impressed with the company that did the doors we’re talking about having them do our windows. It has been the best ever experience we have ever had with a contractor.

RN When I went to the grocery story yesterday (with the Pilates tenant), as I went to park, at the last second I saw a GLASS bottle right in line where my tire would go so I cranked it to the right a bit to avoid running over it. So the front of my car was a little over the line into the next spot. I thought "screw it" and just left the car parked that way went into the store.

When I came out, this was tucked in my driver's side window. LMAO! I think this is so funny. I'm glad the Pilates tenant was with me because we both had a good laugh.

RN Just got home from the vet with Patsy. She wouldn't stop licking her butt to the point she was bleeding. Guess what? She has freakin tapeworms! At least they're easy to get rid of. Just one dose of medicine and her next poop should be filled with dead worms.

The vet pulled one out and showed it to me. It was wiggling around

RN The vet said unless she's showing the same signs, it wasn't necessary.

RN I'm pretty sure I figured out how she got the worms. She killed and ate a bunny earlier this winter. It probably had worms.

Eating bunnies is often the cause of tapeworm infestations. I always proactively worm mine when they kill one.

RN I'll definitely be proactive about it from now on.
