RN It's like you can't do anything these days to save a little money. I changed garbage companies to save $15 a month, and now the cable came and it's went up $16.

RN just got back from the grocery store. Grooch’s mention of eggs caused me to check out prices when I walked by the egg cooler. First of all it was about 20-25% full. Some brands were completely wiped out. The lowest price I saw was $5.69 a dozen for HEB brand extra large eggs. The highest was free range/cage free brown eggs at $8.00 a dozen. We typically don’t eat or use a lot of eggs so no immediate or big impact on us.

I forgot to get a price, but Ralph's had a sign that there was a shortage of the high-quality eggs they like to sell.

I never buy eggs, so price didn't register.

RN: oh my god! I just saw a butterfly fly by my kitchen window! What the hay? I'm going to take it as a good omen.

RN: Mack, of course Mrs Mack is invited. You can both come early summer and Mrs Mack can sit on the deck and enjoy refreshments with me, while you can design a back garden and make us a fabulous dinner.

Did I mention my bf has a gigantic detached garage that half is his shop? You can design and make bird houses, too, if you like.

RN I'm testing my new garbage service today. I have 2 bags and some boxes next to the garbage bin and I want to see if they take them.

RN our relatively new service won’t take bags or items not in the bin. They switched to one person trucks these “crab claw” like devices the side of the garbage truck. They simply drive up beside the container, grab it with the claw, and dump it in the open truck roof. Driver never gets out of the truck and has no helper.

RN Ours claims to take up to 3 bags next to your bin, as long as they are under 30 lbs. They said nothing about boxes, so we'll see if they take them.

RN I wish our service still offered that. I find myself taking our big trash bin down to the street with one small bag in it. Our old service had the 3 bag rule that yours has. Makes getting rid of garden clippings, etc., a pain.

RN Yay! They took it all. They had 3 people for the truck. 2 doing the garbage and 1 driving.

RN Did anyone know there is a Fire Aid concert going on right now? I didn't hear anything about it, but just happened to come across it.

The big one in two venues? Oh yes, so much whining on social media.. About when it wss scheduled, who is performing,

I thought they should have a virtual option, many people paying a small fee.. Get YouTube to donate some bandwidth..

I didn't hear anything about it at all. I just happened upon it. Weird. Well I hope they raised a lot of money.

Don't worry about not having a valentine on valentines day. You probably didn't have a groundhog on groundhogs day either.

I missed that there was streaming, but really can't stream here.

Joni Mitchell would have been cool to see..

RN I'm off to the local Maga bar to drop off some papers for somebody.

Gonna ask their opinions about them tariffs and Elon Musk. If I'm not back in an hour, put out an APB for me.

RN I'm back.

When I walked in, I saw the pool table was all decorated and I thought somebody might be throwing a bridal shower there or something. Then I saw a huge purple balloon that said "PROM" and there was a cut out figure of a teenager in a cheesy suit. I was confused. I was wondering if everyone was so bored this winter they were throwing a fake prom.

So I asked, and there is going to be a fund raiser for the elementary school teacher who passed away 2 years ago. He was very popular, but I didn't know him.

So, I behaved myself and kept my mouth shut, and I chit chatted a bit with some of the locals.

RN, I am old enough to remember when Groundhog Day was a realllly big deal in the news cycle on Feb. 2, and we are all so stressed out at the crazy political stuff going on, that it has barely registered with most of us this year. I kind of miss Groundhog Day, Feb 2.
