One thing I think this group has done wrong is start their business with foods we haven't heard of before.

You would think they would have stuck with normal comfort type foods to introduce themselves. I have also heard the portions are small.

I will go down tonight and give it a try since I really like Mac/Cheese, but never heard of that chili.

The first time I was served a salad with 'spring mix', which was years ago, I literally asked out loud if they had stepped outside to pick it. I felt like a cow in a field as I chomped on it, lol! I still don't like the weeds that they fill it up with. The more veggies the better in my book.

I could eat Caesar Salad with Chicken for eternity so that would be a good option for me. I was tricked into having black beans once and found out that I love them in salads. Good luck with your new choices, Dipo. At least it sounds like they are listening and willing to make changes.

I wasn't impressed. The whole mantra has been the food will be so much better.

The chili wasn't thick like chili should be, I can't remember when the last time was I actually had stewed tomatoes.

The Mac/Cheese was nothing to write home about, you would think if that is the main entree it would be one of the fancy Mac/Cheeses with lobster or something in it. The tomatoes were tasty but like I said when do you order stewed tomatoes in a normal dinner. The zucchini was excellent.

But over all the portions were too small and I was still hungry after eating dinner. Thank goodness I had my Bingo bag with me which contains a bunch of cookies and snacks so I had them to fill me up.

Tomorrow is Shepherds pie, I will see if that is better

Garden Salad (hope it's not weeds)
Shepherd's Pie
Sliced Carrots
Dinner Roll

I did suggest that since there are already peas and carrots in shepherds pie perhaps green beans would be a better side.

So this weeks "Daily Specials" seem to be a bit better than last week, although I can't figure out why we are having no chicken!

This week is mostly turkey, wonder if it is on sale, and pork.

Ok, when I had dinner last night I thought it was turkey that I got not pork. And now we have turkey again for Brunch and it was turkey on Friday night as well.

AND the menu shows turkey again on Monday!

LOL, me too Grooch.

The Quiche was good but not hot, I think I got 10 pieces of vegetables. The minestone soup was excellent and hot.

It is sad that the only way I get filled up is by eating the roll. I used to be able to take half my meal home for lunch the next day. I feel like I am being given half portions.

I totally agree, I may have to move! So angry that the supposed "better food" is so awful.

I finally figured out the problem. I can't make a dinner. Soup/Salad/ Entree w/veg / dessert.

There is no way on the ala carte menu to make a dinner. I can't make a lunch, soup and a sandwich because there is no soup on the menu other than dinner.

I can make soup and a sandwich in my apartment I don't need a "Bistro" to do that.

Well, that is quite disheartening, Dipo. And you may indeed have to move.

I have avidly followed this thread because it gives me hope that if I go into group living I might not actually starve, because you used to have so many choices. I am one of those rare group of people who can taste in foods chemicals other people apparently cannot taste. My brain is screaming POISON, SPIT IT OUT, while other people sit there happily chowing down on POISON just as if they are not getting the same signal I am getting. And it is apparently NOT poison, as they live to live another day.

Well, if you have to move, there are new worlds to conquer and reform and tidy up. Or you can organize a revolt at your current place.

Rock on, Dipo!!
