I'll mark myself safe from the California Wildfires. There are currently 4 major fires and our house is a 45 minute to an hour drive from all these fires. The sky is gray with smoke and if I go out today, I plan on wearing a facemask to keep the smoke particles from getting into my lungs.

There are now 3 separate fires in Southern California, there have been 2 deaths, residents are trying to evacuate horses as the winds have shifted to a horse property area. Apparently some homeowners have set their animals loose.
They have said the winds may die down later this afternoon.

Here is it beautiful, we had a wind warning but that is over. Blue skies with an occasional cloud. No breeze with temps going to 62.

I have directed the Department of Defense to rapidly provide additional firefighting personnel and capabilities to the region being impacted by the Southern California wildfires.
We also continue to work closely with the National Guard.
My thanks to the California National Guard and the Nevada National Guard for readying Airborne Firefighting Systems.
Ten Navy helicopters with water delivery buckets are on their way.

I am not that close, farther than Eggie, but fires can erupt in any direction.
Currently staying in Huntington Beach, East side of that city..
Last night winds were crazy. Roof shingles blew off a nearby mobilehome. Windy outside earlier, not so much later and seems calm now.
Our Fountain Valley firefighters are deployed to one of the big fires.

Seems to be earthquake day here, 3,7 this morning out by the SF Zoo, which they think is the San Andreas Faultline.
Then around 10ish a aftershock and now they are saying there was another earthquake at 3.0.

Some fool was flying a drone over the fire area and hit a Canadian water drop plane, damaging it and putting it out of service til next week.
Hope they can track the person down and throw them in jail.

The Pasadena Humane Society says it's taken in more than 300 animals. Staff members say many of them - including dogs, cats and birds - are coming in with burns and they are receiving treatment. 🥰🐾

There is a gale warning around San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay, the West Delta and the San Francisco Bay north of the Bay Bridge.
