Thanks, Egbok! Believe it or not but the VW dealership shares the parking lot with Subaru by me. When we first pulled in and parked, the 1st thing I saw was 2 ID Buzzs' sitting right there. I was instantly drawn to them. If they weren't so out of my price range, I could definitely see me breaking my rule about not buying VWs. They are so cute! And there's plenty of room for me to live in it if I become homeless, and I would be cool at the same time. What trim on the outback are you thinking of getting? I got the premium. That's enough technology for me. And on YouTube, there's the Homework Guy. I believe that's his name. He explains all the things to do when negotiating with the salesman and the finance guy. Basically, there's not a lot you can do. That went out the window with Covid. Thank God. And a lot of things he said they'd try to overcharge you for, well, it's illegal in NY. But still, it helped me know what to expect. And parts for the Outback, are made in Indiana, so you don't have to worry about tariffs if you need any. Veggies, aren't you a speed racer? I don't think you can be one in a Subaru. Lol!

Kar, consider a Toyota Rav4. They come in AWD, last forever, and are the perfect height for my and your long legs. I LOVE our RAV4. We just sold our perfect 2013 Toyota Camry with 15,000 miles on it to much shorter friends primarily because it was getting too difficult for me to get out of it. Oh, and also if you need a bigger car, the Toyota Highlander is also a wonderful car for long legged people and also lasts forever. That is what we drive in South Texas. Oh, just saw the scooter mention. The Highlander is big enough to attach a scooter lift behind, not sure about the RAV4.

Grooch, I have a red car and love it. Mine is perfect for me as a short person and fits great in my garage (not currently). Toyota Prius C. Before that I drove a Camry for over 20 years and before that a Toyota long bed with camper shell.. 5 speed. Anyway love the red!

I second the RAV4. Driving a 2011 without any issues.

Sea, thanks for the update on red. I had to go to the local market and post office yesterday, and when I came out of them, I'd look at the red and think, "Did I choose the right color." I am just not an ostentatious person. Then I told myself "Yes, I did, and think about how easy it will be to find my car in the Costco parking lot." LOL! I'm happy with it, I just need to get used to it. My cousin has a Prius. She loves it, too. But it has almost 200,000 miles on it, so she needs to get a new car because she has a twenty son who is into sports, so she does a lot of driving on very busy highways.

Prius V is a bigger version. They don't make the C any more. Mine is a 2015. Under 27,000 miles.

RN: Kar, here's some more links for you, if you're interested. I'm not pushing, it's just that my brain is still in excitable car buying mode. I need to make room in the garage today to be able to fit 2 cars in the garage, and that will probably kill that mode for good and I will shut up. This is from Edmund's: Best Cars for seniors And from Graying with Grace: Best cars to get in and out of This is to give you ideas in case your vehicle decides to suddenly give up the ghost and you're not overwhelmed. Lord knows I've had that happen to me a few times.

Wow, that's low mileage, Sea, and a nice car. I would have thought you'd have a lot more with all the running around you do. I actually found my cousin's car on Craig's list of all places, and fortunately, it worked out well. I believe the guy bought used cars and then sold them to the dealerships. She was desperate at the time, had no money, and just got over a bad illness. She needed something reliable to go to the doctors 60 miles away. The whole thing was weird. He had to hide the car from the dealers (so he said) so they wouldn't see it and give him a hard time. Maybe he made more money selling directly to customers than from the dealers. Who knows? But thankfully, she never had a problem with car. I think she's going to get her mother's cross trek because it's time to take away the keys. That's another whole ordeal, but it should be done.

I would have more miles but early 2020 halted Road to Recovery and many other activities.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I do think a new (but I prefer slightly used, costwise) vehicle is in order... but I'm so overwhelmed right now. Will need to get my DS to come up and help me shop when I think I'm ready. I will save those links and the suggestions!

RN OMG! I got a second message from the Pilates instructor from NYC! That's a totally good sign. Like i said before, 99.9% of inquiries don't even make it to a second exchange.

RN, Bigdog and I love having red cars. We had a red Ford pickup, a red Highlander, a red Camry, and a red RAV4. Oh, and a red Mazda3 hatchback, which I did not like, too small and uncomfortable seats. RN, tiny dogs video was cute. Oh, and Grooch? Once you get a red car, thinking it will be easy to find in a parking lot? You will come out of a store and head for your red car and be puzzled why you can't get in. It is not YOUR red car. And suddenly ALL of the cars in the parking lot are red, and you wonder why you never noticed that before. Wait for it. It will happen.

RN The car color of choice here in San Antonio is white. I had a string of red cars and SUVs until my last SUV when I switched to white. I have started walking toward the wrong white SUV a number of times. 😬😱 Luckily I have Seattle Seahawks license plate frames on the rear so that helps here in Dallas Cowboy land.

RN The tiny senior dogs finally went home! Hurray! Their mom is a the nicest 69 yo woman. She was half in tears and even hugged me while she was expressing how happy she is with the care I gave them. How she was so scared leaving them but she knew from the very first update video they were safe and happy with me. And then she gave me souvenirs from her trip. My heart is melting at how happy she was. It feels so good making someone happy.

Great job, Naja, but I hope your melted heart would charge extra for the peeing if they ever wanted to come back. The dogs were lucky to have you and I am sure happy to be home.

My car stands out among all the larger vehicles. Years ago when I went to Atlanta for business trips, most of the cars were red there.

RN Now that I know how to deal with the pee-er, I think I'd be ok charging the normal rate. But I doubt I'll see them soon. I raised my rates $1 the first of the year. I locked the rates for the easy dogs before I did it, but didn't lock the rates of the PIA dogs. RN I just went to the grocery store and when I got home, this was in my bags and I didn't buy it. I feel kinda bad, but not bad enough to go back and return it. haha

RN Don't feel bad Naja. If you took it back, they'd have to throw it out for safety/health reasons. RN I have a bad cold. I'll reply later if I feel up to it. RN it's fricken cold and windy. This has been a horrible winter weather wise.

RN, you raised your rates by $1? That's an odd amount. And yes, keep that if you can use it... they would have to toss it. Grooch, I hope you feel better soon!

RN Well, I went from 35 to 38 per night last summer, and I don't want to hit $40 yet, so I raised it $1. Get well, Grooch! eta: Our storm is almost starting and I only have one set of Christmas lights left to take down from the left bush in front. I'm on a break warming back up before I finish. It's freakin' cold!
