RN: Yesterday when cleaning out my night stand drawers, I found a Google Home (a Christmas gift from when they first came out).I promptly took it out of its box, cut the cord off, punched out some speakers with my thumb, threw it in the garbage can and finally, threw my used coffee grounds on it. Not gonna let that thing listen into my conversations or any one else's. And I'm eying my new label maker now. It may meet the same fate. I'm not trusting the Chinese company hat made it doesn't have some kind of spyware on it.

RN: Mack, I feel for you. We need to replace to huge windows in the front of the house. Each window is the size of about 3 windows. Each window is gonna cost $3,000. And then there's labor.

RN, maybe I won't buy one of those cute little label makers for use in Texas in the winter. Now that I know they exist the urge is strong.

RN: I'm in charge of making the mashed potatoes and I'm in panic mode! I'm trying to use the instapot and I'm not sure if it's going to work out! Argh! I should have bought the pre-made ones at Costco as a backup.

RN I just put the second batch of potatoes ( they all didn't fit in the instapot at one time, even though the recipe said it would) into a pot and put it on to boil on the stove. There's not enough time! I gave myself 2 hours to get this all done. Supposed to take 12 minutes in an instapot, but it took 1/2 hour to heat up! Insane!

RN The potatoes are finished! The instapot was to overdone/watery and the stove top ones (which amazingly finished at the same time) were a little starchy. Mixed them together a ND it is what is is. Happy Thanksgiving, EVERYONE! Typed originally at 11:30. Was in maintenance mode when i went to post.

RN Not sure I would do the potatoes in an instapot, quite frankly it never crossed my mind. Funny Mrs Mack just mentioned she wanted me to peel the potatoes for our mashed potatoes. With me still experiencing some residual effects of my concussion she’s going to have my son help her with the turkey and other prep. He came over yesterday afternoon and cleaned up the “crime scene” I left outside from my accident. Stayed the night though he only lives 2 miles from us. As for windows $3,000 sounds about right. Neighbor’s 30 windows averaged about $4,000 but some small ones were way below that and the larger units like Grooch described were way more. They did go with Renewal by Anderson and got their top of the line windows. Our door company is actually associated with Anderson, and actually most of the top brands like Marvin and Pella, and their rep told me he could do our same model house as neighbor for about $80,000 using a comparable window.

RN, Grooch, I am chuckling at your potato adventure. You must be making a lot for it to take so long, LOL. Thankfully, I don't have to make anything since we are having a lovely Thanksgiving brunch here at my complex.

RN looks good Naja! We doing our typical traditional meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, dinner rolls, and Waldorf salad. Our pie is actually lemon meringue. I love pumpkin pie but in recent years it doesn’t like me and Mrs Mack has never liked pumpkin pie. Because of my accident she went grocery shopping by herself. She said she was going to look for an apple pie but came home with the meringue. Happy Thanksgiving to the TV Clubhouse family.

Just popping in to say that I hope everyone is well and / or recovers quickly from all accidents, etc. Love that pie with the car! Wishing those in the states a wonderful Thanksgiving! Dutch apple pie with ice cream in my house this year! It was so hard not to cut into it last night.

RN, hmmm... not getting the pie with car thing. My brain just isn't working. Kids came up last night, DS and GF went to his dad's today, but they made me a lovely dinner yesterday of mini chicken pot pies, salad, green beans and wine! Then we played Mario Party on the switch, they always beat the crap out of me but it's still fun! Dessert was berry tarts with ice cream. And I get ALL the leftovers! Yum! I am exhausted today, so will be watching yellowstone reruns and resting. Be grateful for every day. You just never know when you will see your days coming to an end. Love you all!

I saw a pie picture but with a truck with a snowplow scoop. On Instagram. All the leftovers is a good thing! I am going at 4 to a neighbor of Mt temporary landlord. A bit apprehensive about gathering..

RN, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Love the stories and pictures! (I think that’s supposed to be the car exhaust or spray from the tires?)

Yeah, the car is so smoking hot because it creates huge plumes of smoke behind it, sort of a retro thing, I think. We had 10 at our South Padre Island, TX, condo for pot luck Thanksgiving lunch/dinner. We had turkey and ham, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, bread stuffing, gravy, traditional green bean casserole, deviled eggs. raw cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli with ranch dip, brie and crackers, and a spectacular cheesecake from a local bakery. And I am probably leaving something out. Oh, and champagne.

The truck pie I saw had the truck facing the "snow" with a snow plow bumper.

That's cute! It would have been better with a the whipped cream spiraling inward a little like the car was doing a donut, instead of just a hard left.

RN This is part of why I hate living so far from my family in Chicago. My absolute favorite cousin Candy (named my black lab after her) passed away on Thanksgiving, and no one even told me she was sick. No one told anyone she was sick. But I would have known because her house is where I always spent my time. She died from a blocked bile duct which was probably caused/complicated by her gastric bypass surgery a few years ago. She was the one I was going to live with when I move back, until I found a suitable place.
