Yes, it is. Highly unusual for them to go straight at the bay. Hopefully she lives pretty far inland?

Maris, stay safe. In California we all get vote by mail ballots, then can decide between various methods of voting. I just vote, seal up the envelope and turn it in at a vote center during early voting (I have my sample marked up except for a couple of things I am researching.

RN, this second hurricane is so worrisome as it hits in already troubled areas.

Jennifer Arnold MD (of TLC's The Little Couple) posted about her aunt and uncle losing everything in St Pete, her parents were ok. Jen and Bill live in Boston now but obviously are concerned about family.

I have been zooming for QuaranTUNE from Thursday through Sunday and being a dulcimer group (lots of other instruments), quite a few are in or from Appalachia.. Several participants among the performers were missing due to damage or power outage, others had relocated and one group played from a mountain top and told of the hardest hit areas down hill from them and they were out on a wonderful porch so you could see the dense forest all around them. They were lucky that none of the trees hit their house but hundreds had fallen. They made a deal with their neighbors to not use their chainsaws during the performance time. Also mentioned lots of helicopters going over.

The only routine I had was at a French Vietnamese restaurant here in Orange County. I had gone there often with co-workers, a good number being Vietnamese, but we always ordered Vietnamese dishes, except for getting chocolate bombe desserts.

But I went on a date and we ordered from the French menu and the poutine just came with it.. I think the owners were among those who first came from Vietnam to Quebec because it was common for them to speak French then.. But many eventually came to Orange County. Anyway this particular poutine didn't make me want more.. Seemed to be based on crinkle cut frozen fries.

Naja, how frustrating for you and Endo that the hospital seems to keep changing things for him...

RN The hospitals really seem to screw around with the traveling staff. But their paychecks are worth it. One of the nurses I know does just 2 three month contracts a year, and she doesn't have to work the rest of the year.

RN Deebo just went home after a 5 days stay. Cross your fingers for a big tip!

RN I really am losing my mind. I totally forgot Mom's new home is in Clearwater. The retirement place where she got the top floor apartment with the indoor balcony. So she isn't in the direct path of the bad stuff.

Thanks for the poutine information.

I am not an adventurous eater, more than a few specks of table pepper is too spicy for me.
I might taste poutine but probably would not order it in case it all went to waste.

Sugar, that was how we got poutine, as just part of our meal. Good meal, probably not so great poutine.

RN, when we lived in Tampa 49 years ago, we lived right in the red area of the map Karuuna posted, just a mile north and a mile west of where that white dot is at the end of the word CLEARWATER on the map. We lived 4 years in Tampa and 8 years in Miami and never went through any hurricanes.

Good luck, Maris. You should be okay where you are.

Interesting Juju, I lived right above where the 275 is on that map. That's where they told us no hurricanes ever came up the west side of Florida.

Until now.

Yeah, dog lovers and willing to share a bathroom is the most important, along with ability to pay the rent. Then toady up to them and get them to do guy things, like carrying heavy objects, to the extent they are able.
