RN and again, I have a some hope. A travel nurse named Debbie wants the room for 3 months for her new contract at Research Hospital. She insists on sending at least the deposit so I hold the room. I wasn't going to argue. She wants to arrive August 11.
On her questionnaire, her answer for "What is your dream job?" she replied "Nursing/Dog Rescue".
Yes!
Now we'll see if the deposit is sent today like she said. No, like she insisted.

RN Guess what? Her payment didn't come because the twit who never showed up last month put a hold on my Zelle account (and money) until I pay her! She finally answered a text this morning and said she and her husband have been calling and calling. I straight up said that's a lie and I know it's a lie because besides no calls ever coming to me, you'd think there'd be one text amid all these calls I supposedly didn't answer.

After a phone call to the bank, it will be resolved in 3 business days. I am so pissed.
HAHA--She just this minute sent me this text:
"I am sorry for that, but Teresa stole my computer, phone, and money. I was stuck in Kansas "
I almost texted back "I don't believe a word you say", but instead I didn't reply. I guess if it's true, it's a blessing they didn't show up or who knows what her friend Teresa would have stolen from me.

RN Yep, since the Zelle account uses my checking account, when someone opens a dispute, Zelle has the bank hold it.
I also cannot get into my Zelle account until she gets her money in 3 business days and they let me back in.
This photo is from my checking. I blacked out any numbers. It's the $400 deposit. Since I had just opened it, we tested it with $1 to make sure it worked.

That's interesting, because I always get a message that says once you send money via Zelle, you can't dispute it and can't get it back. That's why it surprised me.
ETA: Some people are just jerks, and clearly she is one.

RN The investigation dept of the bank just called me. I explained what happened. I said please just give her the $400. I wasn't holding it back. She never contacted me, she went straight to a dispute. Blah blah blah. They will contact me next week with a follow up. And he said the earliest I will get my Zelle account back is Monday. Which probably means later than that.

RN OMG, Someone ran into one of Yolanda's Sonics, the one closest to my house. Part of it collapsed! She just left and is going to send me pictures.

RN Holy crap, It's hard to see but there's a totaled car under there and a dead person on the ground. I think that's the CSI van as well.

RN Yolanda just got home and filled me in on everything! They watched the whole thing on security footage.
It was a 21 year old guy going way past the speed limit, and he tried to pass a guy going slower than he was and he lost control and crashed into the sonic.
The paramedics tried to revive him but it was too late.
His brother said there is no insurance on the car. It was purchased 3 days ago.
Yolanda said it didn't just bring down the canopy. It crashed through the wall into the bathrooms and food storage area.
The the first picture and the enlarged picture show how mangled the car was. You can't even tell it's a car! And the other picture shows the hole in the crashed wall after the car was removed.
She has a bad headache and went to bed.

I'm guessing it still might be alcohol, but the thing is a 21 year old who had almost a full life ahead of him is gone because he thought he was bulletproof.
I've seen it so many times here, but it's usually a motorcycle rider.

RN Oh yes, all the pups snuggled with her on the couch all evening. Poor thing said she felt like she had a hangover when she woke up from her nap. My Dolly was the one who first knew something was wrong and just crawled on to her lap and kissed her over and over.
Yolanda said it will be weeks before that Sonic can reopen and she has to place 20 employees to other locations, but she doesn't know what to do for the ones who can't travel to the other locations.

RN The news just said the guy was only 18, not 21 and his name was Joshua something. So he was younger than thought.
