RN I'm done! :-)

I actually stained concrete brown to fill in under the railroad ties. It doesn't match perfectly, but I'm fine with it.

RN Thanks! I could barely get out of bed the day after I put the lava rocks and stepping stones in. My body was so sore!

RN, I'm so annoyed with myself. Trying to keep my mind off some major troubles in my life and was working on redoing a park bench that belonged to a dear friend of mine who died a year ago today. I had washed, sanded, used a wire brush to get rust off...
This morning, I sprayed the rust coating on it as the weather was perfect, 3 coats Grabbed the can of paint spray to take a peek at the directions hoping that I could paint it this afternoon.
This is the point I realized I had already painted it and not done the rust coating! Argh!
The paint can said Rust-Oleum on it.
Belatedly I see the can I should have used said Rust Reformer. I though I had set the cans down in the order I needed them.
Oh well, the metal frame is painted now. Need to decide if I am painting the wooden slats green as I originally thought or staining them.

RN I use the straight Rustoleum paint without an undercoat on the furniture I did and it seems to do just fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sorry about you friend :-( The bench will be a nice reminder.

Sugar, I think it's wonderful that you are creating a bench in honour of your friend.

I think a bench is a wonderful tribute and remembrance, Sugar.

(and yours for Vinnie, too, Mame)

Naja, do you think both goldendoodles will ever be there on the same day? That would be fun.

RN Sea, yes! Waffles is here until July 6, and Teddy's stay starts July 3. So there will be 3 days together.

RN SeaMonkey, When I got up this morning I saw that the pit bulls' Mom had texted me late last night. She was asking if it was possible for the boys to come July 5 instead if July 8 like is planned. I felt bad, but I had to say no. 2 big doodles and 2 big pit bulls is just too much.

RN Doodle Teddy isn't coming until Thursday now. He was supposed to come Wed.

RN The guys are coming to fix my deck today. 4 of the cement post blocks have cracked after 30 years and have to be replaced. They sure lasted longer than I thought they would. Here's a couple pictures to see what I mean.

We'll see how it looks after.

Here's a video of the guy fixing the deck post in the above second picture. The first one was so easy so he thought he was going to have an easy day, but then he got to the one by the pool filter (first pic above)and oh boy was that a mess. But he got it done and now I can walk on the deck without it collapsing.

RN Last night, the friend/travel-partner of the travel nurse sent me this message.

That's it! I'm not even sure how to respond.
How about this?

"Please tell Connie to contact me so I can arrange to send her the deposit back."
