My son just returned from Los Angeles and said it was the coldest he’d been in California except up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The famous “Hollywood” sign even had snow on and around it. As an aside last week he sold his condo in San Francisco. Officially no longer a California resident.

Yesterday my sister FaceTimed me to see the snow falling at her house in Temecula. Totally amazing to see.

Our San Bernardino Mountains has too much snow. On the news last evening, they spoke to a couple who walked 3 hours with their dog from their Arrowhead cabin home because a tree fell on their roof.

It has been dangerous in the mountains.. the amount and weight of snow has collapsed some roofs, including one on a vital small grocery store. Also enough snow has accumulated that some vents from heaters and such are blocked. And some who have ventured out to shop for themselves and neighbors then couldn't return home. There are people missing their prescriptions, baby food and formula..

It has been cold but I think the wind has ramped up the cold effect.

Today has been bright and sunny.. (where I am in Orange County CA 4 miles from the beach.. I haven't heard what is going on inland or in the local and almost local mountains today.

Finally the sun has come out, and skies are blue with hazy clouds. Temps are going up to 59 before the storm comes in late tonight.

Chilly this morning, currently 51 - and that's the high, with gray hazy skies and a strong breeze.

Rain expected any time now.

Looking out toward the Golden Gate Bridge Saturday evening. A break in the clouds...for now. Rain chances increase later tonight. Chance of thunderstorms too.

Next impulse moves in late tonight. Heavy rain and thunder could wake you up in the middle of the night. Low snow levels too!

We have windy conditions with occasional #snow showers this morning and have received 12.4" (31.5 cm) of snow in the last 24 hours.

We're watching the forecast closely as heavy rain is possible at the lab Thurs and Fri and could pose a significant #flood risk.

Anyone want free snow?? Because we have plenty!! 🤣❄️

According to @UCB_CSSL , we have received approximately 16 feet of snow the last two weeks!! 😳 But it’s not over yet as we are expecting more snow starting tonight through the weekend.

Weird, it was sunny 5 minutes ago, now I see very dark clouds in the middle of my view with sun peeking from the south.

Currently 45 with temps going up to 53 with sunny skies for the rest of the day.

An atmospheric river is headed our way on Thursday afternoon.

Amid the blizzard conditions in mountain areas, the historically cold storms also brought snow to lower elevations. However, now, with warming storms on the way concerns surrounding flooding have risen.

Along with widespread rainfall from the upcoming atmospheric river, strong southerly winds will develop on Thursday with wind gusts up to around 50 mph. These winds may blow down tree limbs and/or trees resulting in isolated to scattered power outages & blocked roadways. #CAwx

We had a really weird weather cell blow past my house this afternoon around 4 pm. First I saw a bright flash that went above my window from N to S, and then a couple seconds later one BIG thunder blast (we almost never have thunder), and then it rained sparse but huge raindrops, and then it hailed for about a minute, and then it rained lightly, and then, poof, it was gone, all in under ten minutes' time.
