Tonight was Grilled Chicken w/scalloped potatoes and veggies or Beef Lasagna, and cannoli's.

I had Lasagna with a side of scalloped potatoes.

Both were excellent.

Dipo - I'm just curious - do they offer a vegetarian/vegan menu for those who wish/need it? My folks are probably 10 years or so from assisted living, and my mom is plant based 90% of the time for health reasons. They both love to cook, so even the idea of someone else cooking for them makes them nuts, but this is one of the questions we'll be asking if/when the time comes.

They don't specifically offer vegetarian but the do have some meatless options, and there are some vegetarians who live here. I have seen one lady who brings her vegetarian hot dogs down to have with other stuff.

They always offer a cup of soup and a salad (spinach or iceberg with toppings and dressing) then the 2 different entrees and the alternates.

There are always 3 alternates - a specialty salad like shrimp Louie or chicken Cesar, a sandwich -- grilled cheese, hotdog, blt, and a potato - regular baked or baked sweet potato.

I did hear that one or two people have moved out because there weren't enough vegetarian options.

Thank you. I'm hoping by the time we get to that point, it will be more "standard," but in our rural corner of the world, it will take extra time to get here. :-)

Carrot cake for dessert ... it was very good!!

I had the salisbury steak, so good, so much better than I used to make with a yummy mushroom gravy.

Had dinner delivered, didn't feel like going over to the dining room.

So far I have had the clam Chowder and Key Lime Pie, both are excellent!

I do have the entree, Tilapia for later if I get hungry, LOL.

Tonight was Stuffed Cabbage w/roasted potatoes and cauliflower or Tuna Casserole.

Strawberry cake for dessert.

I had both, LOL. I wanted to try both, and they were both excellent but I ended up bringing most of the tuna casserole home. Love the cake!

I was about to ask if this was as good as it sounds. But you've confirmed that. Sounds so delicious!

I made tuna steaks tonight. We get them frozen from Whole Foods. They're good and convenient (because they're frozen) so we don't have to plan ahead. :-)

The description on the packaging is funny. It says: Ingredients: tuna

Tonight was Carne Asada with refried beans and rice or Wet Burrito. Brownie for dessert.

I had the Burrito, didn't understand what they meant by wet but it was just served in a bed of enchilada sauce and sprinkled with sour cream and it was HUGE!!

I brought 3/4 of it home along with the brownie w/vanilla ice cream. Guess I will have a snack later.

Tonight was "Candlelight Dinner" ... which meant we had white tablecloths with purple cloth napkins and tea light on the table.

Plus we had white or red wine and a choice of Flank Steak or Cornish Game Hen with wild rice and asparagus. Butterscotch Pudding w/Whipped Cream for dessert.

It was very nice, I enjoyed my wine and had the flank steak which was prepared perfectly. Pudding was very tasty as well.

In honor of Burns Night, we did a "haggis" pasty made w/venison, "neeps & tatties" (rutabaga and potatoes) topped off with a gin & whisky cocktail that was actually delicious.
