RN Wow, that's early! I don't start until about week before Thanksgiving. But then again, I am sure I don't have as much as you do.

I'm going to try to copy what I did last year because it felt so festive.

Shrinky dinks are plastic figures, that are flexible and you cut and shape it than put in the oven to shrink it into a flat piece of hard plastic, much smaller than original. We were not allowed to put in oven because a piece fell of onto the stove surface once, so we used a heavy desk lamp.

RN we decided to start early Naja because of the amount of prep we had to do. The sidewalk/driveway lights alone are two hundred feet. Each lights fits on a six inch plastic spike and are spaced about 5”-6” apart. We had left the old blue lights still mounted to the spikes so it was just time consuming to remove each light a light at a time. I did that while watching football in the theater and Mrs Mack tackled removing three strings of lights (150 lights). from our 42” wreath and rewiring with the gold lights. Our last chore was removing a couple hundred lights from our 30’ front door garland. That still needs to be rewired and that will probably happen this coming weekend. Once all done we’re still looking at probably 5-6 hours plus to get everything installed and powered. Mrs Mack is a traditionalist and won’t let me turn on the outside lights until Thanksgiving but I want to have it all done and ready by then.

RN, Egbob and I attended our annual cul-de-sac Halloween Potluck and passing out handful of candy to each trick'er'treaters from all 7 families. As we sat around a fire pit, a discussion came up from the 5 active and retired police officers/detectives (two are couples) about their firepower located in their houses. I was so surprised at all their firearms and now I feel completely safe when the end of the world comes, lol!

RN Our Farmers auto insurance went up like 300 dollars for no reason, and the homeowners a few hundred as well, again for no reason. We switched auto to that Progressive place you see on tv and our auto insurance went from $1020.00 (6 mos) at farmers down to $382 (6 mos) at Progressive. I can't find cheaper homeowners though.

RN I am just glad it’s Election Day. While I have some concerns I am just tired of TV ads and robo-calls from all sides. I’m happy to say I have almost totally gotten myself removed/unscribed from political mailing lists. I admittedly had signed up for some years ago and some were generated when I was, and I stress WAS, a registered Republican. Anyhow, not exactly a “popcorn night” in front of the TV but I will be at least partially tracking on my iPad.

RN I agree Mack, I too am beyond weary of all the TV ads etc for the Election.
I was scheduled to work the Election both yesterday and today but sadly had to cancel as I am injured/ill.

Rn, Hope you feel better, Sugar.

Mack, I don’t know how you Americans do it. There’s so much campaigning in the U.S. It never seems to end.

RN Most of the “mailings” have been emails not postal type. I just keep hitting the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of most emails and it seems to be working. I was also getting text messages. Some were directly addressed to my cell phone number and some were a kind of robo-text. Many of those say you can “unsubscribe” by typing something like “stop” or “end”.

RN, I hear you Mack, that is thing I am looking forward to the most, no more political emails or TV ads.

Now if we could just get rid of the Humana Medical commercials it would be perfect.
