So I went down to the "Personal Expressions Meeting" to see what it was all about. Apparently they just discuss the activities on the the calendar for the month. They are doing "Random Acts of Kindness" and the manager was struggling with how to document it. Finally at the end of the discussion I said, What is the point of this activity, are people not being kind to each other?
That was when it became clear that this was an assignment from Corporate, which is probably really easy to do at Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities.
But all us Independent People just go about our business and don't document our "Random Acts of Kindness", LOL.
Anyway one other person asked how we could get more people to participate, I chuckled, since you can't make people do stuff.
We met in the Dining Room and WOW it was smelling so fabulous ... can't wait for dinner which is Tostadas, Rice and Beans. Apparently what we were smelling was the rice!! Now I am going to ask for an extra portion of rice with my meal.

I'm around, just really boring lately, lol. Even housework is just the regular, normal stuff. I have been learning to crochet, I can do one basic granny square and mostly have been learning stuffed animals.
Played tag with animal control, it was time for our dogs license to be renewed. Problem is we have one animal control officer who typically isn't in the office and the volunteers can't do that. Took three trips trying to catch her before the volunteer mentioned we could also pay at the police department.
Did a quickie one night trip to Vegas last month just to get out of the house. Realized it was the first overnight trip since before the Covid lockdown we'd taken. We had fun, but I also remembered why we'd stopped going on the weekends, lol, it was packed everywhere we went.
Really other than that, nothing at all exciting has been going on.

Late start today, couldn't find Taran's podcast, so went back to my normal morning games, paper, etc. and jsut now gtting back out to the computer.
I did manage to change out my shower curtain liner. The one that came with the curtain is just a bit to short and I was getting water on the floor. The new one is too long, but I don't mind, now water will stay in the tub. I will think about whether I want to cut some of the length off but first I am going to try it out.
Supposed to have a fire drill today which I believe consists of the alarm going off, but we are supposed to stay in our apartments, and I guess they are inspecting some apts. I thought it was interesting that they said the fire marshall would be checking to see if things are stored in the ovens, LOL. I have pots / pans in there.
Off to grab my coffee and make a safeway order.

Email cleared and Safeway order is complete. Almost had it delivered at a time I wouldn't be home, LOL.
Tomorrow is dentist appointment.

Hahahaha Wargod, everytime I see the Monsoons coming over from Arizona I think of you and all the dust that comes with them.
Glad you are busy doing fun stuff! Any more bike rides lately? I don't remember if it has been too hot.

I don't even want to talk about the dust and dirt, I just spent an hour trying to clean the back patio tonight because of it!
Bike rides on the weekends, depending on if we can get an early start or not. It's been so hot and humid (and windy later in the day) that if we aren't leaving by 8, 8:30 and home by 10:30 at the latest, it's too hot to go. (By the way, it's the same with any house work...it either happens first thing in the morning or at night.) We haven't been out the last couple weekends. The city moved the farmer's market to the park, though, and that has been awesome for bike rides. We go over and do our produce shopping, then hang out for a while enjoying the morning.
Heh, the rains...we got hit with a storm last week. We were actually coming back from Ridgecrest and grocery shopping when my mom called to tell us it was pouring here and wanted us to drive careful. It rain on and off for our drive home and when we got home, mom was right, it was pouring. Then stopped for a while. Then poured again, off and on the rest of the night. I can't remember the last time we've had rain that hard here. It really didn't help the least, I'm pretty sure it just made it more humid for the next two days, lol.
Oy, fire drills are always interesting.

Well we never had the fire drill, LOL, they postponed it because of all the other things that were happening, ie .. hot dog fundraiser for the Alzheimer Walk, etc.
Glad to hear that you are getting some bike rides in, Wargod.
Today I have a dental appointment to get my cavity filled, then I will talk to them about doing regular cleanings. WE shall see, I don't think they take my insurance but I have been paying for all my procedures for a long time.
I have a few more office things on my list to do and I am getting a Safeway delivery later this afternoon.
Time to get some coffee going.

ACCCCKKKK ... My good dentist thought we would be able to fill the cavity but then found it was really deep so now I need a root canal and crown.... The one thing I didn't want!!! I asked if he could knock me out for it and he said I would be really numbed up, but some of the work he did today I could REALLY feel and I was on nitrous! Anyway, I find it fascinating that the cost from him is $3000 for 2 more appointments and the crown versus the Medicare Kaiser Dental Plan dentists that want to charge me $3630 for the same thing.
Plus I don't have the confidence in the new dentists that I have with this guy. He is older so has much more experience with things than those other "young whippersnappers", LOL.
Anyway I am home now, waiting for my face to get back to normal so I can breathe out of my one nostril, LOL.
Off to play computer games and enjoy the rest of the day. Oh yeah, Safeway is coming soon too.

Got my Safeway delivery and my face finally got back to normal. I am a bit annoyed though, because now I am aware of pain in my tooth area and I didn't have that before. Next appointment is Monday.
A little late starting on my tasks for the day which are few ... I need to run some stuff out to the garbage and refill some water bottles.
Got the laundry sorted and my Clorox came today so I have no excuse to not do a load of laundry.
For now I am listening to podcasts and clearing email.

Went to grab some lunch and ended up cleaning out the fridge. Had some veggies I forgot about and they turned to mush, so threw them out and washed the bin. Then rearranged some things in the fridge and threw out some more expired things.
So now the garbage needs to go out, before I just have recycling and kitty poop.
Filled some more water bottles, loaded up the dishwasher and got all the email cleared.
Working on twitter now while I catch up with Taran.

Dishwasher unloaded, dustbusted the kitty litter in the bathroom, filled some water bottles.
And I got a couple of pages of password list done, so need to finish that up a bit.
Not sure what else is up for the day / weekend.

Back from the dentist. This was for the pre-crown stuff, he did a lot of stuff and now half my house is puffy and numb while I am feeling some pain in odd places.
Just took some advil and I am hoping it all settles down, I swear it is affecting my sinuses on one side!
Good news .... I got a 10% discount because I had to wait quite a while, I think we finally got started a half hour after my time ... because the first person of the day was 15 minutes late and threw the entire days schedule off.
Anyway, I am making some coffee and off to do some research.
Finishing up my Taran podcast, email, twitter and my normal computer games for the morning.

LOL, see ... the numbness is affecting my brain, hahahahaha.
Last week it took almost all day for the numbness to go away and this time I said Ow, while he was working and he shot me up some more, so who knows how long this will last.
I am currently drinking my coffee with a straw because one side of my mouth is droopy and drooly.

Tried to have some dinner. Managed to eat the soup without dribbling down my face and got thru the salad. But had to take the sausage w/onions and peppers and fried potatoes home. Also brought home the apple cobbler.
Maybe later when my numbness has worn off more I can finish my dinner.
For now I took some more advil and I am icing my cheek, which does make it feel better.

Much better, almost totally back to normal. I iced my face a little then took a nap and now that I have my smile back and no more numbness I feel great, and hungry, LOL.
I do have a little soreness in the area but don't notice it unless I bite down, so all is good!!

What a difference a day makes!! I got a really good nights sleep and feel great. I haven't been sleeping that well since this started last Thursday!
Ordered some kitty grass for the babies, paid some bills at BofA and now I am working on email, twitter while listening to Taran's podcast so I can be caught up on BB.
The rest of the day is going to be relaxation!

Got my password update done now that I can print it! The next thing is to update my contact info for the fridge.
I was thinking about doing a load of laundry but since we are in the excessive heat advisory I think I should try not to use extra energy. I can do laundry tomorrow when it cools down a bit.
Kitty grass came and a part of my Chewy order.

HAHAHAHA, Taran's podcast is making me chuckle. Just starting my morning routine, clearing email, etc.
My password list update is printed, so nice to have the printer available when I want it!
Today is also "get ready for housekeeping tomorrow". This means getting anything in the wrong place put away.
So I need to do the laundry and I need to fix the shower curtain. I like my new liner but it is about 6 inches too long so I need to cut that off so it doesn't drag out onto the tub floor.
So that is my main goal, I can always roll the laundry back into the closet, hahahahaha.
Off to have my yogurt and read the paper,.

High desert, Dipo. We've had numerous flash flood warnings for the past month or two. However, we've only had rain a handful of times...once was an absolute downpour, the rest of the times just enough to make cars splotchy. The last one nearly scared me to death, I was driving home from the store when my phone started in with the warning alarm. It was a good thing I was coming to a stop at a stop sign at the time cuz I almost jumped out of my skin, lol.
I'm glad you are feeling better after the last dental crud.
