Oh lordy, so while cleaning Karin found that my bathroom sink is leaking! I had no idea. Called it in and then once she left put the bathroom back together - kitty litter box, etc., then pulled all the stuff out from under the sink.
Then found out that my waterproof flashlight wouldn't work and I couldn't figure out how to get the batteries out so I had to find out the name and then watch a video to finally get to the part where they took out the batteries. So now that is ready to fix.
In the meantime I put the kitty water back into place and then accidentally kicked it and spilled water all over! I was planning to change the office rug but not at that minute but had to roll up the existing rug, clean the floor under the rug and put the new one down.
Housekeeping is kicking my butt today but I did get a text about going to Mexican food today, so my reward for all this bumbling and work will be a nice margarita.
Back to email and now I can listen to Taran.

It's Errand Day AND time to clean off the bed side tables. Get all the tissues, trash, books, and cups off of these and put them where they belong.
Mexican Food was excellent, then I won Blackout at Bingo, only $5, I had to share the pot.
This morning maintenance came and fixed the leak in the bathroom sink, it seems to have come from the overflow or something. Anyway it's on my list to reorganize the stuff under the sink and get rid of stuff I didn't realize was under there, LOL.
The firemen have left after doing their training so now it should be a quiet day, YEAH!! I do have to pick up my Chef's Salad at noon.
Now it's time to clear email, catch up on BB and listen to Taran.

It's Clean your Car and Purse Day AND time to clean all the windows in your Master Bedroom and if you have one in your bathroom clean that one too. Make sure to wipe the window sill and the frame.
I have Resident Council today, then Bingo, so have been getting ready for that. Cleaned up the kitchen while the coffee brewed. Got the dishwasher unloaded and reloaded, refilled the water bottles and opened up the house and got all the fans going.
Also clearing email and catching up on social media.

Good meeting, got lots of information to share with management. We can't figure out where the chairs keep going. We have two tables set up to play cards on the 3rd and 4th floors, but all the chairs have been taken somewhere!! How stupid is that. Oh and all the little tables that should be between tables or at the end of a sofa have all disappeared too! it's nuts.
Then played Bingo and had no wins!! Now I am catching up on General Hospital, email, everything else until I run out and get my dinner options.
I did get thru Taran, so at least that is done.

Saturday!!! A day of rest
I am tired, I think the Resident Council stresses me out more than I realize. So today will be naps and putting the bathroom sink back together.
I grabbed some yogurt and the newspaper, fed Sylvester and I am heading back to bed after a quick look at BB and making sure nothing important in my emial.

Finally got the under the bathroom sink back together! I found some shampoo, which I almost ordered the other day, so that was a nice find.
Also took my "tuna Wraps" apart and added celery and onion to make tuna salad, then ordered a couple of tomatoes so I can have that for lunch.
And I ordered a refrigerator thermometer. I have been thinking it is running all the time so that is what has been impacting my utility bill, so I want to see if I have it set too high.
All in all a few good chores done so I can goof off the rest of the day. Oh, I forgot, I cleaned up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher too.

Sunday ... A day for reflection and relaxation ...
Got a call late last night from my friend who had spent the day taking another friend to the emergency room and ended up going out around 11pm.
We went to DENNY's .... so fun! I can't even remember the last time I went there, LOL. Had a great Grand Slam and got caught up on all the weird stuff that went on for the day.
Today I have Bingo and 4pm and then dinner pickup. So it should be a nice quiet day.
Off to clear Email, read the Sunday paper and social media.

It's Home Blessing Day AND time to do a DUST bunny hunt! Grab your broom and hit the trail. Look under the furniture, the walls, the ceiling fixtures, on top of the curtains and blinds.
Brewed the coffee, unloaded the dishwasher, cleaned up the kitchen.
Now working on Email, listening to Taran, time to balance my checkbook and see what else needs to be done.

It's Planning Day AND time to work in the living room, get rid of anything that does not belong in your living room.
I brewed the coffee and cleaned up the kitchen, took out trash to the bins. Watered the outside plants and refreshed the kitty water. Then I ordered some new kitty grass. I also grabbed a pot to try planting some kitty grass to see if it will grow.
I put together the Ballot Box, so I can put that on the Table when I go to play Bingo tonight.
Now it is time to listen to Taran, clear some email and get caught up on stuff.

I brewed the coffee and cleaned up the kitchen, got my refrigerator thermometer so it will be interesting to see what it reads.
Working on email while I listen to Taran and watch the US Open.

It's Clean Out Your Purse and Car Day AND time to place something pretty in the room.
I got my comforter and sheets back from the cleaners so now I need to find a place for the comforter. It is huge and I am thinking of getting rid of it, but it is good for the winter, LOL.
I have some packages to deal with and I have a few other things to deal with. I was finally able to pay my Kaiser bill, every month there is a problem. I am hoping the new password will work for more than one month.
I have Bingo at 2pm and will try to order something from the Bistro. Maybe have dinner in there tonight, the menu is not a favorite so maybe there will be some free tables so I can read my book.
I did unload the dishwasher and make the coffee, now listening to Taran and clearing email.

Bingo was fun, no wins but it was interesting watch everyone run around like chickens without heads because they don't understand the new Bistro setup.
All the tables are changed, and as a suggestion in the suggestion box said "old people don't like change in their routines", LOL.
People trying to get their new fobs - that work the ordering bistro - then you get a tracker that you set on your table and I guess the robot brings your food over. You can still sit down and order, which will be what most people do because a lot of the people here can't even work their phones, much less any other technology.
I asked about the website, I want to be able to order from the comfort of my home, then go pick it up. Not ready yet! The Grab and Go looks okay but the prices seem kind of high - $3 for a bottle of soda.
And we are still waiting to see if the cost for guests ever shows up on our rental statement - that is where it is supposed to be billed since it can't go against our $400 food allowance.
I ordered $28 food to go, a chef's salad, a hamburger, soup, desert, and got overcharged $2.50 for chicken that was no where - I think they confused the chef's salad with the Chicken Ceasar. Anyway I still have $280 to spend by the end of the month, LOL. I will go down tomorrow and order a few salads, then come home and take them apart to use over the week for lunch.
Now I need to catch up on computer games and read the paper and probably put away a few things, but I did take out the trash.

Many things on the list to do, I need to sort laundry, put away some stuff, clean up the kitchen and load the dishwasher. Also need to dustbust the bathroom and office plus deal with the giant comforter, LOL.
For now listening to Taran, clearing email and cleaning up the kitchen while the coffee brews.

Unbelievable ... someone just stole my 12 pack Diet Dr. Pepper Cans! Good thing I had frozen stuff out there so I didn't let it sit for more than 5 minutes or more things may have disappeared!
I did get the kitchen cleaned up, Taran is done and now catching up on computer games.

Sunday ... It's too HOT to do anything, LOL ...
All the outdoor plants have been watered and most of the indoor, just a few left to do. Kitty water refreshed and I got the planter filled with seeds and dirt - trying to see if I can grow some kitty grass.
Sylvester is not feeling well today, he has already thrown up and now eating grass so I will probably have a bit of clean up today.
I have closed all the blinds and got the fans going, hopefully I won't need to run the AC.
Kitchen is cleaned up and dishwasher loaded. Now working on email, Taran and then computer games.
Oh and Brunch is back, I sort of liked having Sunday Dinners instead.

Many things on the list to do now that it has cooled off a bit. First things first I need to go and load up the dishwasher and get it running.

Got the laundry sorted and I am sending it out!! Pickup is tomorrow.
Got thru email and most of my social media stuff. Time to read the paper and finish up the computer games.
Oh and I sent my RC Email off to my lawyer friend to look over before I send it off to all the peoples who run the place and seem to have all lost their minds. One of the Staff people told me yesterday that Internet isn't included in my rent.
I was flabbergasted, that was one of the things I considered before I moved here. I added up the cost of all the things I wouldn't have to have and added them to the normal market rent to make sure this was a good deal. Every time I turn around they are taking something away. I am going to pull out my contract and start making waves.
Off to play some games, then work on other stuff.

My plans for the day were disrupted when I found out I had Housekeeping, so I decided to cancel Housekeeping and go forward with my plans.
I sent the laundry out so just need to do the cooling blanket and a few other things. Maybe tomorrow.
So far just listening to Taran, watching Perry, got the coffee going and working on email.

Saturday - a day for rest and recovery
I slept funny on my arm so now I have to exercise it to get the sourness gone, LOL.
Mostly today I need to unpack my laundry and get the closet in order. I have to put the giant comforter up on the shelf and do a little rearranging.
Also need to establish my Christmas Present area since the first one I ordered came yesterday. I need to box it and tag it for later wrapping.
For now, just the paper, yogurt, and some computer games. Not sure there is any Perry today.

Hauled out the newspapers and some trash, then checked the ballot box. I am amazed at the responses, LOL. Some people put their names on their ballot, we do not track who votes, I understand the caregivers who are completing them for someone. They put For name. Others are putting I don't know this person, next to the candidate.
There is only one person per job, plus I made a write in line. It's fine not to vote for someone but I am entertained that they need to make comments. I did provide a candidate statement for each person.
Then I went to make a doctors appointment, for some reason my Doctor has not had any Thursdays, I am going to ask her about that, maybe her kid was in something on Thursday because I was shocked when some Thursday appointments came up. I grabbed one. Updated my wall calendar with appointments and housekeeping.
Made my orders for dinner for a couple of days that I don't want to sit down. I will drop them off tonight when I go down. Not really interested in most of the dinner but I do love cornbread stuffing and I haven't read my book in ages, except for one day.
Now it's time to unload that laundry, LOL!!

Sunday ... a day of rest ....
The laundry still haunts me, LOL, I guess I will actually deal with it after brunch today.
I did do a little kitchen clean up and took out the can recycling and trash. It was nice to find the trash room was under control - I did run into Maintenance dealing with it yesterday, so it isn't trashed today! YEAH!
Grabbed the paper, yogurt and now clearing email and playing computer games.

Had a great brunch, then came home and was watching Star Wars and Top Gun: Maverick while I played computer games.
Got a call from my friend and ended up going for Chinese! So fun and we were able to catch up on more stuff. Plus we went by Krispy Kremes and I got a dozen - so my morning sugar rush is ready to go, LOL.
Now trying to get caught up on email, social media, the US Open and other stuff.

It's Home Blessing Day and time to spend 15 minutes and scrub your stove top! Soak the knobs and drip pans in hot soapy water while you clean the stove top.
I cleaned up the kitchen while I brewed my coffee and earlier this morning I ran out the trash. Now I am working on email. I made up my list, so next up is Bathroom Dustbust and then the bag o laundry, LOL.
I was a little pissed off because I got a response from "management" that seems to be purposely stupid and ignoring the question. So I wrote a huge email siting all kinds of laws and then sent it to my friend, the lawyer, and she talked me off the ledge.
Now I am thanking them for agreeing on the one item and asking which of the other two options do they want to do. Guess it's time to send my Problem / Solution / Benefit memo which deals with other stuff. I have on month to blow up this little "whipper snapper" who is now manager. AND I think I'm am smarter than she is, LOL.
Off to email, bathroom and laundry.

Oh, I thought I had explained it. We have a little table with 2 chairs (that the former Manager purchased specifically for the Resident Council), 2 bulletin boards and a black suggestion box that were previously in a corner between one of the elevators and the mail boxes. Easily accessible by the residents and just tucked into a corner, not impeding the exit door (to the outside) or the hallway to the dining room and mailboxes.
For some inexplicable reason the new manager moved it to the back of the building into the Community Room (which was the Theatre Room and rarely used). No notification, no reason , just all of a sudden moved.
So I said, ok, maybe they needed that space for the Kitchen while the remodel was going on, so I let it be. They didn't use it during the remodel, it had one of those tall recycle bins sitting there. I personally think that The new Manager has OCD and wants everything put away all the time.
So I sent them an Email asking when they are moving it back to it's original space, and suggested two other places if that one doesn't work. I sent it to the Manager, her boss and the President of Carlton.
i got a basic non-answer from the Activities Director, not even the manager, LOL. And they don't seem to understand what "public-facing" means. I had said it needs to be public facing for residents, families and care-givers.
I basically wrote them with an email that tore them a new one but my lawyer friend has suggested a different response so I am working on that.
Oh, and one of the ladies in a wheelchair told me it was a hardship for her to roll all the way over to that area, when she used to be able to see it when she came down for dinner. I did mention that in the email and now they want me to tell them who the people are that have complaints!
If it doesn't have to do with their apartment, then it is not the RC job to tell on people. The Resident Council is supposed to be a liason for the residents, not a tattle-tail.
