Had a great lunch and then went to Pet Express to pick up the kitty grass. Online had shown the store had 29 containers. Got there and there were 2 scraggily specimens, asked if they had any more and the manager told me he hadn't recieved any for 2 weeks. So I let him know online it said they had 29!
He was shocked and annoyed and said no wonder I haven't gotten any, I am going to go take care of that right now, LOL. So he gave me the pitiful grass for free.
Called to get my pickup from Carlton and she was delayed so I told her I would head down to Peets and grab a coffee, so she picked me up from there.
Now just trying to get caught up on stuff, mail, twitter, podcasts and games.

Getting started .. got the door open so we can get all the cool air into the house.
Not sure what I am going to do today. Tried to get the printer to work yesterday and we have determined that maybe I need a printer cord, sometimes my internet goes up and down with it's strength, so the wireless option isn't the best.
I also sat down really hard and slide off the low seat, so technically a fall, and I am a bit sore from the twisting and having to get on my knees to get up. So I may do a "sick day", LOL.
Also, even tho I decided I needed a spending moratorium I am looking into getting a longer plastic liner for my shower curtain. It occurred to me that there might be longer ones that would solve my problem there.
AND we figured out that all the earphones, over the head and earbud, that I have are really considered "phone" ones so they won't work on my computer.
I was thinking I should get earphones before I considered buying speakers because the sound is sometimes not loud enough. So I need to do the research on which is better/cheaper to do.
Anyway, time to go and listen to Taran and see what happened overnight on BB, read the paper and have some yogurt.

Had a bunch of adoptions this morning at TinyKittens.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pss7fUAUqrs , almost forgot but heard them talking. These kittens are so funny, they are used to getting in a carrier so they can go fun places, so they all try to get in the carriers when it is adoption time, LOL.
Watered the plants and measured the shower curtain needed. Naturally they are wider and longer than I really want but since they are plastic I think I can just cut it to fit the width, and I don't mind if it is too long because that is the problem I am trying to solve... it's not long enough and I get water on my floor.
Waiting for a response from the website to reset my computer so going back to playing games.

Sunday !! A beautiful day for Reflection
Just reading the paper, playing some games. Ran down for some brunch, it was ok.
Now I am making some coffee and finish reading the paper. Maybe check in with friends and see if they want to do dinner or something.
I did finally hear back from Khols, so I could order the new shower curtain liner. Ended up buying a really cute top so that I could get free shipping, LOL. At least it was on sale.

Late start. Got up early and did stuff and then took a nap and woke up at 11.30, LOL, must have been tired.
Finally got my twirler hung on the balcony, unfortunately there hasn't been much breeze so I can see it spin. I think it might've gotten a bit bent from where it was hanging before. I didn't realize that the door was closing on it.
Getting caught up on BB, clearing email and twitter while I enjoy my coffee.

WOW, got thru twitter, that was a challenge, LOL. Finished email and then I purchased some speakers and a cord to run from the laptop to the printer.

Not sure what I am up to for the day. Still have a few things on my list. Cleared email and now starting on twitter while I listen to Taran and play computer games.
Also enjoying watching TK trying to gain the trust of Candy, the feral cat, who just gave birth to 5 kittens. She has fallen for the churo a couple of times but still swipes at them when they try to grab the kittens to weigh them, hahahaha.

Went and dusted the file cabinet so that I can putty the new lamp. It has a glass bass and I wanted to make sure it was secure. So I puttied the bottom and secured it to the file cabinet.

Last start today but I have figured one thing out. The Personal Expressions lady came by this morning to ask if she would do a profile on me for the monthly newsletter.... NO, I explained that I am a fairly private person and I am still trying to figure out how people know my name that I haven't met, I keep thinking there is a photo of me somewhere. She let me know there was!!! It is in an area I never go to, I am going to go there tonight after dinner, but I told her I only authorized my photo for ID purposes. I swear these people don't read their paperwork!
Anyway, not going to be in the newsletter and my photo is coming down.
This morning I got thru my games and I have cleaned the toilet and dustbusted the litter up from the bathroom floor.
Also swept the living room and cleaned up the kitchen which mostly involved loading the kitty dishes into the dishwasher and finding a place to store the extra bottles of water I got.
Next I need to make a dental appointment, balance my checkbook and pay some bills. All while clearing email, twitter and catching up on BB with Taran.
Off to grab my coffee and all my pills so I can restock my pill thingie.

Got the dishwasher going and restocked the daily pill container. Email is done, still working on twitter.
And I moved some stuff out of the drawer by the sink. It occurred to me that the cooking utensils in there were ones I rarely used but just happened to be in a container when I was putting stuff away. This has made me think that perhaps I should take all the utensils and put them in a bin and then store them under the cabinets. I don't really need them in a drawer (and I only have 3), I haven't cooked anything since I moved here. That would free up the drawers for things that I actually use.
Off to the bank to balance my checkbook, pay bills and see if I need to get any money transferred around.

Balanced my checkbook, and moved some money around. And I picked up my mail.
It's a miracle, the refund check from PG&E that I accidentally dropped into the outgoing mail has returned to me! Plus I swear to God, California says I owe taxes .... and they gave me a $2.67 penalty for paying late on my $41.00
I have to call tomorrow because I am annoyed! I paid my taxes of $41.00 in March, then shortly thereafter I got a refund check for $41. I found it again after I moved so I deposited it in July, and now I have a statement wanting $43.99, LMAO.
I will probably just pay it and then argue with them about the $2.99 in penalties (there is .32 in interest charged). So annoying.

Feeling kind of yucky today and I notice now we have clouds and wind, since I can feel all the congestion in the back of my eyes I am sure there is some pollen I don't like out there! Of course my first thought was Covid, but I haven't been anywhere, LOL.
Anyway, I noticed my tax thing is due on the 30th!! It has been running around in the post office getting forwarded so I will send a check today. Argue later if they come back and want another 50 cents in penalty and interest.
Not sure what I will do today, I may have a "sick" day and just goof off.

Got my final box of stuff ... it was very fragile and has been stored at my friends house. She thought all the changes I have made at the house were fabulous.
Went out to dinner and had some great food and got caught up on stuff.
But now I am very sore from all the hauling stuff around and running around from yesterday.
So I am taking the day off,. I may unpack the box, it has all my antique glassware in it and I forget she packed it with pasta and beans to give it cushion.
Have to find a space in the pantry for that stuff, LOL.
Anyway back to relaxing and playing games with a little stretching in between.

Sunday !! A day for relaxation and counting our blessings.
Had a power failure yesterday around 6:30ish, I didn't realize that was what was happening because this very loud noise started. It finally occurred to me that it was some sort of generator and it seems to be under my unit in the garage .... I think. I plan to ask about it today and inquire if there are any carbon monoxide detectors in here.
If they say they are part of the smoke detectors then I will need to purchase one since I think they need to be on the floor and not the ceiling.
The generator cut off and then it came back on again. I was thinking maybe it was the Fire Marshall here testing stuff because they did say that an inspection was going to occur. But I haven't seen an announcement about that so will inquire ... what the heck.
Off to read the Sunday paper and see what is happening in the world.

Found a storage place for the extra kitty scratcher pads and now the kitties are enjoying the empty box they came in.
Also found the things that I thought I had lost. I was thinking I had a lost box, but as I laid in bed thinking about things I remembered I put them in a smaller box (they were odds and ends from my nightstand) and maybe when I unpacked the big box I just put the little box into the less used nightstand.
And I was right ... there was the small box with all the stuff, one of which I needed, the instructions on how to set the alarm clock by my bed. It is a pain in the but and is now a half hour fast since the power failure.
So that means all things that may have been lost have been found, LOL!
Went over for the shoulder / neck massage and no on was there, I suspect they haven't found anyone to do it and I really want one. Going to check out Cache Creek Casino (I saw it was scheduled this month) and see if they have spa services, otherwise I guess I will have to find some place around here to get a nice shoulder/back and neck massage.

Dusted the one bookcase and other tables in the living room and found one of my photos on the floor. I swear these kitties get up to lots of mischief in the night.
Oh and I replaced the scratcher pad so Sylvester is very happy. I will drop off the old ones into the recycle bin on the way to brunch.
Think I might see if I can get the printer going today. I got the cord and I need to print some things so that is a good goal for the day.

We had offered for the grand niece and newly wedded husband to stay in our house while we were on our Alaska cruise, so we cleaned the entire house before we departed. They did not stay in our house. It sure was nice to come home to a clean house.

Last night I unpacked all the fragile glassware and washed it so I can putty it into place at some point today.

Did some clean up in the kitchen. I have a glass tray that holds the kitty grass, so I took that down and washed it and I have a marble cutting board, gave that a good scrub, all while I waited for my coffee to brew.
Then I wiped down the counter, man it is hard to reach from in the kitchen ... bad design, LOL. But now it is clean and I can put everything back later when it is dry.

It rained!! I couldn't believe it, it wasn't very much but it did come down from the sky, LOL. It really smelled like rain yesterday as well but nothing happened.

Tried to set up the printer, still not able to get the laptop to recognize the printer. They should be Besties, LOL, since they are both HP. Probably going to call the computer man today.

Working on the hutch, putting the glassware aware and getting it puttied down. Also grabbed the container I am going to use to hold cooking utensils that I haven't used in a while to free up the drawer space.
Off to grab my coffee and continue with the hutch, email and twitter.
Oh and I left a message with the dental office so I can get my cavity filled.

Got the delicate glassware puttied on the shelf of the hutch, looks really pretty.
Need to deal with the other shelves so they at least look good, LOL. Then I can close it up and won't have to dust too often.
Also updated my information on my TD Ameritrade account, I swear everytime I turn around there is another place to update with my online accounts.
