Oh and I finally heard back from the other Senior Living place I was thinking about. I couldn't believe the price difference.. both are independent and the 1b/1b in Concord is $3495 for the best located unit in the building, the comparable unit in Pleasant Hill is $5595.
An almost $2000 difference just because of location and they are maybe 5 miles apart. So amazing.

TNT, I did look around at regular rentals in my area and I could get a 1B/1B for anywhere from $2200 to $2800, but of course, that doesn't include any of the amenities and there are many. I particularly like the 2 meals per day, and housekeeping twice monthly, and the complimentary transport to doctors, groceries, and even to a CASINO. That just cracks me up.
Oh and it includes cable and WiFi as well.
But yes I really like that place and may get lesser rent because I actually like all the units that aren't considered in the "best" locations, LOL.

Today I am going to work on packing and office stuff. My Board meeting last night went really well, we got everything done in an hour and a half. No body was arguing and we approved a bunch of stuff.
I do need to update my accomplishments list, I noticed it doesn't have anything in it after about October, LOL. And even tho I am leaving I do want to give them as much info as possible, plus I will probably have to be on the board for a bit after I move. Currently our board is 5 and only 3 of us are "technically" allowed. OUr bylaws allow for board members who don't own/live here or are renters. Apparently there is a new law that will override that and says that only people who own are allowed to be on the board, so that will make only 2 of the board members actually legal.
I think there is an exclusion that if you can't find anyone to serve you can keep your board. So I will stay for a time once I move, and until they can get some more board members.
So I have grabbed the paper and started the coffee, off to check on email and twitter.

Finally got thru email, still working on twitter. I had a real problem scanning signatures onto the lawyer retainer! I guess when I got the new computer set up they didn't somehow add scanning to the printer. Not sure why you need something separate in order for that to work but you do.
So I ended up having to figure out how to add scan so then I could get that done. At that time I cleared my HOA email, still have some things to do with HOA stuff.
First I am working on twitter, then I need to go get ready to go out to dinner

We went to Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash for dinner. It is a funny burger place where there is no Brass Rail and no Car Wash and no one admits to knowing who Pete is, hahahahahaha.
It was fun and it is just a burger / beer joint that serves a lot of different foods. They have mexican special and a pasta special every day. It was quite busy and we enjoyed our food. Plus there was enough seating that we could didn't have to sit crammed in with possible covid people, LOL.
I did take out the big bag of recycling, which led me to clean the corner where it resides, and a bag of trash.
Now I will just watch some TV and clear my email.

Got thru the paper, played some games and came and cleared email and twitter.
I swear, we had an HOA meeting Wednesday where we discussed hiring an attorney to represent us against a homeowner. At that time we agree to sign the retainer agreement and get started.
So I get an urgent email today asking if they can give the attorney information on the issue with the homeowner.. WERE YOU NOT AT THE MEETING? Seriously what do you not understand about our conversation with regard to this issue. It just amazes me.
Anyway I took care of that and got thru the rest of the HOA email. And then I wanted to finish the vac'ing so I can put the vac away. So I started in the bedroom and then redid the hallway, kitchen and office rugs. Got a call from another board member so now I just need to vac the living room rug and I will be done with that chore.
Can't wait to move to the Senior Housing where they will do it for me!

Got the house open to gather in all the nice cool air, supposed to get hot today.
SOOOOOO, I will be retiring the heater and putting out the fan.
I refilled the birdbath with fresh water and fed the kitties. Grabbed the paper and off to start the day.

Sunday!! Rest and Relaxation
Just swept the balcony --- tons of pollen laden "fruits" have fallen off the liquid amber along with a ton of spike balls. Then I grabbed the hummingbird feeder.
Earlier, when I made my coffee, I also made some hummingbird food so now I can clean and rehang it.
Also got thru most of the Sunday paper so now I am clearing email and twitter.

Ok, I found my new apartment!!! It is the ground floor, but really the 2nd because it is above the underground parking. The site slopes so the front is street level but the back goes down so the street level apartment on the back of the building is not at street level. It had a living room that is bigger than normal because of it's location and it has a storage unit on the balcony. It is perfect and can't be available until mid-May which gives me the time to sell my condo.
After looking at the unit we went to dinner at the Lazy Dog and sat on patio so we got to enjoy all the different dogs who came to hang out.
Oh and I took out my newspapers to the recycle bin when I went down.

TNT, it is independent living. I was cracking up because I picked up another "newsletter and schedule" and they play a lot of bingo and other games. I might learn how to play "real Mahjong" instead of computer mahjong.
So today I have my coffee brewing, will work on clearing email and twitter while I watch Perry Mason.... METV has moved to an HD channel so I can only get it in the living room. So annoying, going to have to change my routines again. Although maybe it is a good thing, I could ride my bike while I watch Perry, LOL.
My plans for today is to finish up the living room vacuuming, finish up the 3rd donation box and track down a box or two to start an electronics box and my "sister" box.
Off to grab my coffee and check on bills.

Worked on my budget and corrected a few entries, then made sure the bills are all set up properly.
Next I worked on the HOA Accomplishments, I hadn't updates since October so that took a long time and is finally done. Printed a bunch of stuff and got that all filed away. So only one more thing I need to do so I can resign from the board, the deck list.
I have been trying to find a printable template of normal furniture types so I can try some floor plans, but not having much luck. I need to go and put that request in the other part of the forum. Maybe someone else can find one, I don't seem to be able to google that well, LOL.

I miss Dear JMM a LOT. She would have Googled you up seventeen different printable templates by now and maybe even had all of your furniture arranged. She was SO good to all of us.

Started the coffee, put Perry Mason on the TV and rode my bike!!
Trying to get a new routine going that includes Perry and the Bike, LOL. Also checked and cleared the HOA email.
Now off to get my coffee and clear email and twitter.

Got thru email, still working on twitter. While my leftover fettucine heated up I neatened up the kitchen, identified what could be recycled and what was trash. Also ready to do the dishes after I finish vacuuming the living room rug.

Living room rug is done and I ran the vac over the dining room floors, AGAIN.
Twitter done! Redid my list so I can work on more things, LOL.
Oh and the crow has dropped by today.
Off to order my new shower curtain.

Ordered the shower curtain, it is so cute. It is one of those that doesn't require hooks, and has a detachable liner. I also wanted to order these really cute ceramic watering things, they had a terra cotta spike and were shaped like rabbits / bumblebees and something else. But I couldn't find them on the QVC website, I even tried the HSN website in case that is where I saw them. No luck with either site, so annoying. And I thought they were so unique that I didn't write down their number.
Also cleaned out my one nightstand and found two old tablets! I knew I had one but didn't realize I had two and plus 2 big bottles of "earthquake" water. I can't find an expiration date anywhere on them but I know they are old.
So I will use them to water the plants and get some more after I move.
Set up my electronics box so I can track down an e-waste donation or company.

Do you have a move-in date at the new place?
Have you found a realtor for your home?
Have you notified the HOA yet? There will be much weeping and knashing of teeth there!!!!!

Hahahahaha, Tntitanfan, I will move in some time in May. They need to rehab the unit. When I saw it they had riped out the flooring and they use a really nice low berber carpet when they redo it. I have decided I want the that fake hardwood flooring in the kitchen, master closet and bathroom. Plus I want them to remove the closet doors and track, I will put up drapes for a softer look. They will paint and all the other stuff they do when someone new takes over the unit.
I am doing a couple of things this weekend, picking up boxes and getting rid of the Goodwill donation so that the house is cleared out a bit so I can get a realtor. And finally I will probably be on the board for a bit after I leave just because there isn't anyone to take over, but we have hired someeone to conduct the elections. I do plan on resigning as President, they need to get used to managing things on their own.
In anticipation of that I have been working on a couple of documents that they will need and I am almost done with that.

Just talked to a realtor and let her know that I will be back in touch on Monday/Tuesday to see where we are. Since I am going over the the new place on Sunday I will see what the move in date might be there. I am thinking mid-late May. Then I can contact the movers as well.
