Balanced my checkbook and my soup is finally done. I think I will make it again with all the ingredients, LOL.

I didn't realize I was out of carrots and I don't have any spinach but it is very tasty and will be great for tomorrow. I have it cooling on the stove.

Dipo - Several months before COVID - remember back then? - hit I had begun to check out a more supported living situation. Now that such places are allowing visitors once again, I have resumed my hunt. I want to pick out my own final location instead of leaving it to my friends - have NO family - to do so!

I am currently back on the hunt1 I am looking for an "independent living" situation which means meals, housekeeping, and lots of activities in a place which offers assisted living as well. This is the final move!!! Some places offer a flat rate for assisted living and others have an a la carte plan where you can select as little or as much assistance as you need and in what areas. I hope to have my search narrowed down to two and refundable deposits in place by my birthday in June! Here once you are at the head of the waiting list, you STAY there and have first refusal on anything available at that facility.

Tntitanfan, thanks for that info ... too bad we aren't in the same state, LOL, we could share info.

I was just going to look for an apartment that had a Starbucks very close, LOL, but after further thought it occurs I should move where there would be assistance should I need it later, so now I have changed my search criteria.

Have you found a good website to help or have you had to find the locations individually?

I was also wondering this morning if there is someone I can hire to "downsize" me and be the manager of the move.

Tuesday's Morning
http://www.flylady.net/c/fp.php?tzm=420

Got the HOA email done, reviewed and improved the Resident Manual and paid the bills -- totally forgot about them on the 18th!

Got my soup warming up on the stove, it is cold here today and now I am off to deal with my email/twitter/tvch.

Got email, etc done and started working on my apartment spreadsheet. It is amazing that there isn't a spreadsheet like this that is already done online. Such a pain in the butt that all the assisted living places don't want to say what they cost. Seriously it does depend on lots of stuff but they could say starts at ...

I am also looking at regular apartments that could accommadate me, that have elevators, washer/dryer in unit, and maybe cover internet and cable TV.

I was looking at some of the communities and they have all these activies and I am just ,... I don't want to do all that stuff (and have it incorporated in my monthly costs), I just want to stay home, play my computer games be on the internet, watch TV and play with my kitties, LOL.

It should be esay. Anyway I have quite a list of places to call and check on things.

Next up I am going to work in the kitchen I need to get up and move a bit and I put away the rest of my soup and have the pan soaking.

Finished up the kitchen, all the dishes are done, refilled water bottles and then wiped down the counters and front of the dishwasher.

Need to add wiping down the front of the fridge to my tomorrow list.

There is a great comprehensive FREE to the user service here called "A Place for Mom." I am sure other places have similar services. They listen to your parameters and then recommend possibilities. When I finish up I will have visited 18-20 communities across a three-county spread.

I tour each place - making sure I eat lunch AND interview the chef - and bring home lots of information. I AM looking for lots of activities for the time shen I am no longer able to drive! I like to be busy morning, and night! It is a very rare day indeed when I stay home = today for instance I have drop-off and pick-up at the library, Bingo and lunch at the Y, and a trip with a friend to Trader Joe's after lunch.

YES! There are down-sizing and moving services available. I have not priced one locally -

Contact your local Senior Center for contact information!

Hmmm, I have seen that, I will try it to see if it can help me. Thanks Tntitanfan, wow you have visited a lot of places, LOL.

Just finished the HOA email and paid a bunch of bills, only 2 were there yesterday and I asked about it and a bunch more showed up this morning. Have a board meeting tonight so need to review the final board package when we get that.

Off to start my coffee and clear email.

Oh and I forgot, I did call TurboTax and it was only a 5-10 minute wait. Finally got a gal who I believe was in the South from her accent, LOL, told her my whole story and she asked if she could transfer me. Then I got Houston, he checked everything and I explained I felt like I had been double charged. He gave me refund on the most recent charge and then sent me a link for the form I needed to pay my California taxes, $41, so I am a happy camper.

I have also drafted a resignation letter for the board. Spent a bunch of time transfering copies of stuff I think I might need to my person email and at 5:30ish I will get ready for the board meeting and look at the board packaged.

I decided that resigning from the board is faster than selling my house and moving. This morning I realized that I get a stomach ache and anxiety when we have board meetings or even in anticipation of having to deal with the HOA email. I feel bad because I don't know what is going to happen to all the things that need to get done and if anyone will step up to the plate (doubtful), but that is where we are.

Haven't decided when I will send in my resignation but it will probably be in the next day or two if I don't get pissed off and send it tonight, LOL.

Ok, went to potty and ended up cleaning the toilet, inside and out, then had to do the floor because I accidentally got the toilet cleaning water slopped out of the toilet, hahahaha.

So that's a chore done.

Thursdays Mission
http://www.flylady.net/c/fp.php?tzm=420

So the Board meeting was entertaining, I told our prop mgr I wasn't feeling well and asked her to run the meeting. It was pretty much a disaster but they finally got a few things done. Still planning to resign but I have a few things I need to do / document before I resign.

This morning I have been playing games, reading the paper and watching some TV. Now I up and ready to do some chores. Have the coffee brewing and think I will get on my bike, then clear email and work on my list.

Bike done!! Listening to my DayDrinking podcast and waiting for my Safeway delivery.

I need to get my Apartment Detail set up better, maybe make a few calls. Then tonight I have a dinner date for pasta with my friends, we are going to Pasta Primavera where they have my favorite Pomegranate Martini's!! Maybe when we go we can swing by one of the apartments I am thinking about.

Friday's Mission
http://www.flylady.net/c/fp.php?tzm=420

Ran out of time yesterday before dinner so didn't get to work on the apartment spreadsheet. I did have an absolutely fabulous dinner with my friends, LOL. So today I will work on that.

I have done some cleanup in the kitchen, next thing on my list is to clean the microwave so I am off to google best methods.

Oh and I am, of course, working on email and twitter

Put some water w/vinegar and ran the microwave for 5 minutes, it said to let it get steamy by waiting 15 minutes. I didn't see any steam when I opened it up. So I washed the turntable and wiped it down as best I could and now I am running the vinegar water for another 5 minutes. I also did the dishes and wiped down the counters.

My back is bothering me now so I am going to play some computer games for a bit.

Snowball day. Started out with wanting to vacuum the exercise room before I did yoga and went downhill from there. Mom was going into town to pick up my youngest niece for the weekend so I thought great time to sweep, mop, and vacuum, especially since I already had the vacuum out and ready to go.

Did the few dishes in the sink, wiped the counteres, and did a wipe down of the stove. Picked up Ollie's toys in the living room (he is just like a toddler, not happy unless his entire toybox is emptied on the floor!) and dusted the living room, then did the floors. So pleased with myself, no one was home to walk on my wet floors, the dogs were all asleep and I finished mopping at my bathroom....then ups showed up with my dang amazon package (that had already taken two weeks to get here, they couldn't wait another 20 minutes or so!) and I had to traipse down the dang wet hallway into the entryway which was also still wet!

Finally got to yoga and a quick lunch. Weather is nice today (low 60's and sunny) and as long as the wind doesn't kick up we will be going for a bike ride. Along with the stuff that took two weeks to get here from amazon, my new gel bike seat covers were in the box so I'm excited to try that out.

Well I ended u getting my new dentist appointment instead. I have a Wednesday appointment so we shall see how it goes, they have nitrous and that is the most important thing, LOL.

Oh and the microwave turned out good. When I was up on the step stool wiping it out I found out the top screen thing on it comes off! I have been trying to scrub that thing while in place for years. So I took it down and scrubbed to get the greasy buildup off of it, it is above the stove.

I always thought that was a good place for a microwave until I had one there, don't recommend it, LOL.

Saturday's Mission
http://www.flylady.net/c/fp.php?tzm=420

Put the screen/cover part back on top of the microwave and fed the kitties.

Then while I waited for my coffee to brew I did the few dishes sitting there. Mostly it was the plastic cover I use in the microwave.

Cleared email, off to work on twitter and my apartment search spreadsheet. I think I want to cruise by a couple of locations tomorrow.

I really like, or I should say my butt really likes, the new gel bike seat cover! It's a lot more comfortable.

We rode to the store to do a little shopping today. The bike rack at the dollar store is off to the side of the building and neither of us was too comfy with that since you can't see the area unless you go around the corner, so Darren stayed outside while I ran in. It was a nice ride, also nice knowing we can just hop on bikes and ride to the store instead of taking the car. I mean, we aren't going to be able to shop for a week, but I wouldn't be doing that anyway at the dollar store.

Sunday's Mission -- Have a beautiful day of gratitude.

Yeah Wargod, so glad it worked out and it's cool that you can easily ride into the store without having to fire up the car. Do you have a basket for your bike? You could pick up more things if you did, LOL.

I am brewing my coffee and making hummingbird food. I swept the bedroom so now I guess I will clear email and twitter.

Had a lovely lunch and then we drove around and I got to look at the apartments I was interested in, found a few more to research.

And I can't believe how wonderful it is out! So spring like and warm.

Big baskets on the back between the two rear wheels, it's awesome. We brought home a bag of dog food yesterday, along with the few groceries. Darren's actually talking about building a box to replace the basket (at least on one bike) that will have a lid and lock. That way we won't have to haul in things into the store like our helmets or the first aid kit, plus we can carry an air pump and a few tools for problems if we want.
