Partly that, the other people who were on the board that were helpful all sold and moved away. But, I am getting older and have always intended that I would move to a building with an elevator. When I first bought this one I had planned to buy another one down at the Bart Station once they were built. Unfortunately they changed the plan and built apartments instead.
So I have figured out how much "homeownership" actually costs me annually and I think I can find a place that will be comparable, plus I can get washer/dryer inside and some even have high speed internet included in the rent.
So that is my thought process.

Got a good start this morning so I have refilled water bottles and swept the bathroom, now working on email, etc. Hope to get quite a few things taken care of today. I don't think I will get many interruptions so first off I am going to go to my taxes!!!

Oh and yesterday we had a fabulous lunch, picked up some Mexican at the Taqueria I had been interested in trying and went to the business park to sit at the picnic tables over the "pond". They need to do a little work on that pond, it is looking a bit dirty and last year looked a lot better.
I also took out my giant bag of recycling on the way out and we were able to stop at the BofA so I could deposit my settlement check. I swear it's been so long since I used an ATM, they changed it all up and I couldn't figure out how to get the option to enter the amount of cash I wanted so had to take the $80, hahahaha.

LOL, the fates are against me. Had a former homeowner drop in to see me, he is also on the board so I couldn't just say no, LOL. So haven't really gotten much else done.
I did just clean and wipe down the dining room table. I got some new kitty grass delivered last night and for some reason Sylvester feels a need to grab them and throw them down on their side which means they spill dirt and sometimes end up on the floor with dirt all over there.
Off to grab the dustbuster and then try to get back on track with my list of stuff.

Got the dustbustering done, then I finished up my email, twitter and BB stuff.
Once I cleaned up the floors I moved a couple of boxes around so the kitty area in the DR is new and exciting for the kitties, LOL.
I think now I will see if I can get a bit more done on my taxes.
Oh and in all of that my Safeway order came and I realized how many things I forgot on the order, LOL, but it is put away.

Excellent, taxes are done, I got $75 from Feds and I owe $41 to California, LOL. I will ponder it a bit to make sure I haven't forgotten a deduction and then file them tomorrow. I figure I might break even once I pay the filing fees.
So now I just need to play some computer games and clear my head.

Yay taxes being done!
I suggested to BIGDOG years ago that we just hire a CPA because I found it too stressful, and he agreed, AND he takes care of getting the records together. Such a relief. I would be pretty sure I overpaid every year by at least the amount the CPA charged.

My taxes are done too. I’m just waiting for an updated federal form to be uploaded to Turbo Tax in order to be completely done and file. Had to wait for the same form last year. The Federal refund is so small, I’m just going to roll it into my quarterly tax payments. State refund is good due to the Oregon kicker refund.
Once all is done, I print all the forms out and check against my records. It’s the accountant in me to look at everything in detail again. Last year, I performed this check while watching American Greed, which I thought was appropriate since I was paying a couple of grand to both Federal and State.

Once again I am trying to get my normal routines back in play but .... this morning the paper didn't come, LOL. I reported it and hopefully will get a copy soon. I pay a small fortune for it to be delivered and do like to start the morning with it, but I will work around that.
Clearing email, twitter, catching up on BB and then I will ride my bike!!

Bike is done!! I really must make sure I do it everyday, I can feel that I have less stamina than I had worked up to. Afterward I went out and swept part of the balcony and grabbed the hummingbird feeder. This morning when I first got up I made some new food, LOL, an now I see a hummer flying around going what the heck and looking in the slider.
Off to the kitchen to clean and refill.

Feeder has been cleaned, refilled and rehung. Also gave the birdbath a refresh. I still need to finish sweeping and watering the plants.
But first I am going to go and file my taxes.

Never got around to filing my taxes, was thinking of applying my $75 to next year but then at dinner my friend said, just have it deposited to your account it can pay for dinner, LOL. Then I recalled that I was going to have to pay to file the State and pay the state, so I will take the refund and pay the State.
Dinner was at a new, for us, Chinese Restaurant, it was really good. I would be interested to see if they have lunch specials.
This morning I have swept the living room/dining room Kitchen/hallway so I could set up a box for the kitties to lay on. I noticed that they were found of laying on the opened Chewy box I had in the office. So now the Chewy box has been opened and set up to receive Goodwill donations and a new box is in the office for laying ... Sylvester is currently laying there, LOL.
I am working on email, etc.

Not a lot going on around here this week. I've done the normal stuff and laundry. The weather has been beautiful, mid 70's this week. We've been riding out bikes and it's been fun. Mid 70's weather is lasting through Monday then it drops to the low 60's. We are hoping that even cooler it won't be windy, so long as it isn't we can keep up the bike rides.

I filed my taxes and of course, they charged me again so now I am in "contact" hell. I have a legitimate claim that they charged me twice but naturally they don't have an email address. I like to have written information, and when I finally found one place it says ask anything and when you do it says they are only open M-F, hahaha. So that is now delayed until Monday.
Then I thought oh, why don't I check on the dishwasher settlement thing I filed a claim against in 2016. OMG, they are still working it through appeals and all that crap, amazing.
So now I think I will just go sit in my bed and finish the paper and play some computer games while I watch curling, LOL.

Sunday !! A day of relaxation
It is gorgeous out today, going to be really spring-like! I went out and cleaned the birdbath and gave them some fresh water.
Also ran the dustbuster in a few places around the house. Now I am having coffee, clearing email and listening to a podcast watching some curling.
Off to clear email, etc, before I get ready to go for a lovely afternoon early dinner / lunch. Going to Pacific Catch to sit outside on their patio in the sunshine.

It was great Chieko, they have a bunch of tables on the patio with umbrellas (and heaters) and it is right next to the WC Flood Control Channel for the Walnut Creek, so you can hear water flowing down the channel. So relaxing... and there was hardly anyone out and about (superbowl, LOL) so it was nice.
Afterward I wanted a Starbucks Latte, normally I just make coffee at home but enjoy and occasional one. I swear we went to 5 stores, 3 were closed because it was a little after 5pm, 1 was "closed temporarily" (means covid) and finally we found one that was open until 7pm. I had seen a news report that Starbucks was having trouble staffing and with covid.
Now I am enjoying my latte and some Whole Foods Chantilly cake!! Hope to work on my HOA email but when I tried to login it didn't recognize me so I am waiting to try again.
