We have our granddaughter tonight so we are going to let her pick. I see cheese pizza in our future.

I am thinking of Tuscan Tortellini Soup, the youtube I saw looked yummy and I am pretty sure I have all the ingredients in the pantry or freezer. Plus it is supposed to cool down here this week, with maybe some rain this Friday.

This thread is always amazing. Everything sounds so good!

We've been having a lot of turkey lately (Canadian Thanksgiving) but that's not a hardship because we like turkey. However, tonight we're having grilled salmon, which is one of my favorite dinners to cook and eat.

Tonight it's yummy rotisserie chicken. It has about 15 more minutes to cook.

Naja, if you imagine 1/2 of that chicken leftover from last week being made into chicken chef salad, I am having the same thing.

That does look yummy Naja. My beef stew is cooking away, a couple more hours, and it smells fabulous.

We finally have cooler weather so I made a wonderfully creamy mushroom soup that included dried porcini mushrooms and baby bella mushrooms.

I just made another giant tub of borscht to last a couple days. I figure we better eat light for a couple days before Thanksgiving.

I ordered Chinese take-out. DH just left to pick it up.

Sweet sour pork, beef chop suey, and an order of egg rolls.

No poultry dishes! LOL

Naj, first time I had borscht was around 1995....and haven't had it since. Neighbor made some for us...we moved. First time (from what she told us).....canned beets. Second time fresh beets. I remember how great the broth was...forget what was in it. Delicious though. I remember her telling us she would never use canned beets again (I didn't notice the difference).

Abby, I use my Granny's recipe and the broth consists of beef broth, water, minced garlic, dill weed, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and vinegar. Sour cream at serving time to personal taste.

Yes, I agree with your friend. Only fresh beets! :-)

Abby7, go reread you post 3 above where you "could have" said the neighbor made borscht for us, and it was SO bad we had to move.

Hahahahaha! You are such a gem.
