I managed to catch the synchronized swimming almost from the beginning, purely by accident. It was the duets, unfortunately US isn't the powerhouse they used to be and finished 8th. But it was still amazing and beautiful.
Oh and Team competition starts on Thursday! Whew, I will be away tomorrow and was afraid I might miss it.
And these open water races are kind of crazy, LOL. Apparently the starting pontoon was destroyed by surf on Friday, hahahahaha, so weird, so they have to just start off on the beach, swimming out 100 meters to the starting point.
This event is so bizarre, yesterday when the women raced they were talking about how there weren't many jellyfish! And there was controversy and one women was disqualified for hitting another's arm at the finish pontoon, so Brazil got Bronze.
It is so weird because they swim quite a long time and then at the end they have to raise their arm and slap the pontoon.
Now they are saying the water is fine but they have taken precautions, probiotics, antibiotics and will drink coke-cola afterwards. What does that say about coke, LOL.

OMG, what a race! Several people were DQ'd the guy who was first missed the slap of the censor so he ended up getting second. How crazy is this event, LOL!
And the guy who had a 76 secondish lead ended up 12th.
