Oh that sounds good and easy to make, Naja!

I haven't had venison in a while. That must have been a treat. Happy anniversary, Teach!

Thanks, ladies. We countered tonight with ice cream cones at our favorite shop and popcorn when we got home! LOL Definitely one of the perks of empty nesting is being able to say popcorn and wine are the entire meal! :-)

It's so hot I didn't even think about dinner. I ate a half of a bag bbq Fritos, and DH microwaved a turkey hotdog.

I had a chicken cobb salad yesterday from Outback Steakhouse. DH got a gift card from there for Father's day. He had the 8 oz sirloin. We did curbside pick-up because no way was I going to get dressed and made up to have it all melt off just on the trip there.

Not watching bachlorette..need to call directv. Satellite signal lost on abc. A few other channels too. Not all though.

Naja lol. I agree, melted is not a good look. I've checked that curbside service. Been thinking of forcing (lol) dh to pick food up on his way home from work. There is an outback near where he works... It''s "almost " on his way home.

I'll tell him tomorrow that you told me that he should pick up the food for me. Thank you.

The online menu is so fun to navigate, Abby. There are even places to type in special instructions. It's very detailed so you actually can get what you want. All the way down to the individual ingredients of your salad.

(and what time you want to pick up)

So you can do the whole order online, tell them what time you want it done, and it will be ready when he gets there.

I have found a lot more places deliver these days, as long as you pay a delivery fee. Around here that is usually $3.

I cooked chicken quarters at 1-2am last night for the next two nights dinners, lol. Grilled chicken salad tonight, tomorrow is going to be chicken salad sandwiches. I cooked some hard boiled eggs tonight, only time the stove was on, and dang,it got really hot. Even doing the worst of it last night, it was still 10:30 before I was ready to eat tonight.

There's going to be lots of salads and sandwiches this summer. With Darren's change of hours, he's not home around dinner time so very few bbq nights too, sigh.

I must be reading your mind, Wargod. I was thinking of putting the showtime rotisserie on the deck and cooking chicken hind quarters outside.

Heh, it's that time of year to get creative. It's just too hot for cooking inside and really heavy meals.

Naja...that is good to know. I have a few fav restaurants that I have used for delivery for years and I'm very specific on how I want my food. Didn't got out in middle of night to go to Von's. Stupid idea anyway.. Went to sleep instead, but I did reserve a delivery from Von's (even though just had delivery on Sunday). Was surprised that first opening was 5-6 pm. Thinking more people ordering because of the heat.

LOL, I was going to run over the TJ's but then I remembered I had chicken in the freezer, pulled it out this morning. Go8ing to go and through it into the crockpot.

I also had some cooked chicken in the freezer so I pulled that out. I may just survive the heatwave without starving, LOL.

Too hot here as well, so DH grilled 6 different veggies as I made a green Greek salad. I just dumped the veggies on top of the fresh salad and called it a meal. Our asparagus season is ending, so I'm really rather bummed about that.

Tonight we had the yummiest ham and Swiss sandwiches on rye, with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I piled the lettuce and tomato on mine so it was very filling.

Tomorrow I am going to buy some slider buns and make home made sliders. I am going to do it as close to White Castle's as possible, with the finely chopped onion, pickle, and their sauce that is half mustard, half ketchup :-)

I'm a little disappointed right now. I went to walmart and the grocery story and neither one of them carries slider sized buns :-(
