Lawrence Block has a series of books about a hit man. Nothing ever goes the way it should. They're wonderful.

I am loving the series by Blaize Clement--the Dixie Hemingway mysteries. Mystery and pets!

I'm going to have to go back through this thread tomorrow for some of the recommendations since aunt just let me know she's ready for new books. For me...does anyone read urban fantasy? Any recommendations for authors or series (I prefer series, but will read stand alone books too.) And some that don't lean heavily towards romance and er, well, porn? I can deal with the romance part if the fantasy part of the story is really good, but I'm getting tired of books having loads and loads and loads of sex and I swear if I read one more where the guys got a giant, throbbing "manhood" and can bring her to a screaming, hair pulling orgasm with nothing more than a smoldering glance I'm gonna throw my kindle across the room! It's not that bad if I go to buy in a bookstore cuz I can thumb through the books and see what I'm getting myself into, not so easy with the kindle. Last one I read took me an hour and a half because 40% (yes, I kept track) of the dang thing was graphic, every detail documented sex that I scrolled though. Ticked me off too, cuz the urban fantasy part of the story was excellent and would have been much better if there was more of it!

Your Aunt may like 2 mysteries I enjoyed...Her Last Letter by Nancy C Johnson...good read. I generally don't like English books but Dead Simple by PeterJames was good, a real thriller. Both were under $3.00

Does anyone have Amazon Prime in your family, War? If so, they now have a Kindle lending library. It's one book a month, but that's still 12 free books a year - AND there is no time limit for how long you can have the book like there is with most libraries.

I think War's aunt is a very fast reader! I'm getting a Kindle Fire which will have a free month of Prime and I certainly plan to borrow at least one book during that month. War, your aunt would also qualify for a free library card from the Free Library of Philadelphia and they have lots of Kindle books.. of course you'd have to do the downloading but it is just as easy as buying a book.. once you borrow the book it goes to Amazon and you "buy" it for free . I'm reading my first book from that library and have two more when I'm on the list. I think it was mentioned with a link in the other thread about what are you reading.
