Like mother, like daughter Dark Places is actually my book passed on to Elizabeth. I liked Sharp Objects even better, her first book but Gone Girl is the best.

I started reading "The claiming of Sleeping Beauty" by Ann Rice. I don't know what to say, except that it is very wierd.

'Necee, Exit To Eden is a MUCH breezier, contemporary fun read, in the same genre, than the intense, off the charts, beauty books. A galpal who worked in a bookstore, knew I liked Anne's Vampire books, so she got me the Beauty books as a gift one year. I really didn't care for them. That's why I'm not keen on reading the Shades of Grey series.

I will have to read that one. Yeah, I am at about 30% finished with Sleeping Beauty and I am wondering if she is going to do something besides what she is told. not my cup of tea, yet I am still reading it

Checked out the fourth of Jenkins' Blessing books yesterday! Have a bit more of my next to last Sir John Fielding series book to finish before I leave London. It is such an interesting - to me - series that I may actually finish the last book as well before returning to the wonderful town of Henry Adams -

You can look forward to Henry Adams a bit longer I just wish the next book was coming out sooner. Meanwhile I'm hanging out in Galveston over 100 years ago and it is hot and humid there.

I just finished King of Sword and Sky by C.L.Wilson. It's the third book in the series I mentioned earlier. Two books in the series left to go. My daughter is also reading the series. She urges me to read faster so she can have the books next. lol.

Just finished Frank Langella's Dropped Names. Wasn't keen in the beginning, but it grew into a page-turner.

What were your favorite chapters Mame? I have a library copy and I thought I would read a few of the more interesting chapters. I'm reading Elizabeth Taylor's chapter right now.

I'm finishing up Slaughterhouse Five - enjoying it and already want to do a re-read while taking notes (timeline style) to more thoroughly "get" it. Next on the list is a re-read of Raising in the Sun (AP kids are reading it, so I'll re-read before posting online discussion questions for them). Also re-read Everyman (morality play). Then it's on to a re-read of The Book and Dorian Gray so I should be able to make it through the first 12 weeks of class at least. Fortunately, that'll leave me at least 6 weeks of reading time for non-school books! Oh, and I'm listening to The Affair by Lee Child - another Jack Reacher novel.

Is that "Raisin in the Sun?" The follow-up play is "Clybourne Park" which is a total turn-around 50 -60 years later! TN Rep(eratory) Theater is playing "CP" this upcoming season! I can forward you a copy of this script if you would want it! So fun to compare and contrast the two -

Hahaha -- yup, it is a RAISIN in the Sun. Did Hansberry write the follow up as well? I'd be very interested in the script! My email is teachmichigan at yahoo dot com.

Rieann the Elizabeth Taylor chapter was certainly one of the saddest. The snarkier chapters were certainly the most memorable. Charlton Heston, Paul Newman, Anthony Quinn, etc.

Listening to Fall from Grace by Richard North Patterson, read by Dennis Bousikaris who is one of my favourite audio narrators. He always draws you in. Reading The Secret Garden on my Playbook.

Received, TNT. After researching it a bit, I'm quite excited to read it (and I also recalled it from the Tonys)!
